BBQ and more!
Before heading to Terrapin State Park we stopped here for lunch, mainly because they have a pet friendly patio. I ordered the wings and hubby got the Cheesesteak they was on their specials menu and we shared an order of fried pickles. Everything was absolutely delicious and I live that they have Maine Handcrafted sodas on their fountain. The wings were really large, meaty & juicy and the bbq buffalo was the perfect amount of heat. Hubby's cheesesteak was huge, he had to save half for later and the fried pickles were yummy as well, very tasty dipping sauce. The staff here is very friendly, as we were enjoying our meal they even brought out a bowl of cold water for our golden retriever. In addition to their posted menu they usually have lots of specials listed on a chalkboard at the front door and they even have a full bar, trust and believe that we'll be back.

Drove here for lunch, and as it turned out it was retro Wednesday, where prices on ribs and chicken are rolled back to the year they opened. The ribs were taste but sort of soggy. However, the macaroni and cheese was very flavourful, gooey and delicious. But what made this place special was the service I received from the barmaid who acted as my server. She was friendly ( called me sweetie, and had a down home family feel to it). She was attentive, and talkative but not overbearing. Really enjoyed my conversation with her as I was alone.I probably will return just have her again as my waitress, but I will try the BBQ chicken next time.

We were given a gift card to the Smokehouse, so thought we would take advantage of it for Valentine's Day dinner. We started with the nachos , which were not made with tortilla chips but potato chips. Tasty with lots of pulled chicken, which was very tender and moist. My husband had the French dip sandwich ( which is only served on Thursday ) served with homemade chips and he really liked his meal.. I had a craving for ribs and was very disappointed with them - they were dry, and tough and well over cooked.. I've had better . Even with bar- be- que sauce, it really didn't help. They were served with 2 sides of your choice - I had mashed spuds and collard greens. They were both very good - well seasoned, well prepared. For me , they saved the meal . Our waiter was great - Jeff . Helpful, attentive - our glasses were never empty and he came around frequently to check on us. I did not send the ribs back - which in retrospect, I should have . I generally don't send things back, so that was my fault . If I return, I would not order the ribs again. There were other items on the menu to choose from that looked more appealing ( Looking at the other tables and the meals served to them ) The restaurant appears to be staffed by all males, except for the bar tenders- which were female. Everyone we encountered were very friendly. .
