Stopped for a weeknight dinner with family while visiting NC after a local recommended it. It was a good meal but I expected it to be better. Nothing was terrible but everything just seemed to not live up to my âCarolina BBQâ expectations. Cornbread was just ok. Brisket was below average. The pulledpork was very good but nothing I havenât had before. Pulled Turkey was a highlight with its tasty, vinegary sauce and daughter said her burger was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and fast, although there were a couple of inaccuracies with side dishes.

First thing you need to know is this is a cash only business. It seems a lot of people take out. We dined in. The ribs were delicious but the pulled pork lacked any flavor. The sides of mashed potatoes and stewed apples were great. Service was excellent. The service was with a smile and very attentive. Because our son will be going to school in the area, we will be back but just not have the pulled pork.

I always enjoy coming here for lunch. I usually get the patty melt, but vary my side. Recently I got the sweet potato waffle fries, which come with a cinnamon-something butter? for dipping, so yummy it was like dessert.Someday Iâd like to go there for the music.

I gave this restaurant 4 or 5 stars a few years ago because the food, service, and ambience were worthy of it. But not anymore. We went again yesterday and noted the following: 1) The restaurant smelled more of garbage than BBQ; 2) Floors were very greasy; 3) One corner of the restaurant was piled with chairs, supplies, and food containers, which I presume were empty though one had BBQ sauce or old food (couldn't tell) on the outside of it; 4) There was mold around the AC unit; 5) The food was bland; 6) Service wasn't unpleasant, but the message was to hurry up and place your order; 7) Tables were not very clean. I did notice a health department rating in the mid 90s and I didn't get sick from eating there, but there wasn't much that was appealing about our visit. The quality, service, and cleanliness here seem to have slipped considerably from a few years ago. We won't be back.

Had a great lunch at this truly southern barbecue joint today. Wonderful wood smoked and hand pulled âque with Mac and cheese and fried okra. Everything was top shelf, the the banana pudding was fantastic. Great hushpuppies too.You canât go wrong at this fine restaurant. Great service too.
