This is the pizza you write home about. Perfect in every way. Makes even the best Napoli style pizza back home in Toronto disappointing. We had the margherita and the cappriciosa (with some lovely anchovies). Amazing. The place has no table service and seems to be a combination grocery and pizzeria. You order at the check out counter on the way in and give them your name. When the pizzas are ready they call your name...as pronounced in the local dialect, so listen carefully!!! Also just grab drinks from the cooler on the left...when you're done, pay at the check out counter. It was slightly confusing but the effort was completely worth it.

Impressive wine selection. Very slow service. Most of the food we ordered they would come back and say they didnât have. That was rather disappointing. The food was all so salty. So much salt. The tiramisu was just cream and cocoa...no cake. One of the waiters, an older gentleman was very nice. Difficult to enjoy dinner as the kids at the table next to us were running around, screaming, climbing on things. The staff did nothing about it. I understand kids are kids, we had two with us and they didnât act like that. If youâre looking for somewhere to relax, this place will work. Food is edible, just salty.

Typical local, home-made pasta, truffle Frsco, porcini mushrooms, wild boar, hare, snails, steak Chianina IGP, Saffron, Ostrich, Fish, Pizza for lunch.
Pizzas are delicious, very thin, crispy and big and a fantastic bargain. We have taken their pizzas to go back to the villa we are staying in and it is an economical and super yummy lunch. We have been in many spots in Italy over the past two weeks and this pizza is definitely up there in terms of quality and deliciousness. Very nice owner/staff as well. They are open for lunch and then close for awhile in the afternoon until dinner time. Highly recommended.

Dolci fatti in casa. T
I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. We have holidayed in Sarteano for many years but this was our first time here. As we parked we could see the setting was idyllic. Lovely animals all around, goats, hens, mules, piglets - our children loved it. A warm greeting and friendly service. Very much helps if you have some Italian as the menu is all in Italian but they helpfully translated. The food was absolutely delicious, all very fresh and slightly different from the normal offering, things like pigeon and goose alongside steak and pasta. We sat outside but the restaurant inside looked equally lovely. We shall definitely return! We will be happy to served you again. We hope to see you soon.Riccardo

Conveniently situated at the Chiusi Chianciano Terme. The room decor is quite odd, as it themes vintage cars. The place is popular with locals and Italian tourist, and for a good reason. Food is good and the staff friendly. You get value for money. We will come back, no doubt.

This is a beautiful bed and breakfast with pool, which also has a lovely restaurant serving really good food. We ate here more than once and it was always excellent. The chef even proposed various gluten free options, and they were delicious.

I was very eager to take my friends to Bruno's as well as not having been back myself for a few years. Located on a central street of Citta' della Pieve, it offers a lovely decor and ambiance (upstairs and downstairs dining rooms), very very good service and excellent Umbrian and Tuscan dishes. The service is excellent and staff very nice and helpful. The locale was completely restructured a few years ago with great taste and also keeping the original frescos on the ceilings in the upper rooms of what was originally a medieval house.

"La Taverna del Patriarca": La Taverna del Patriarca is a typical Tuscan osteria carved in the ancient cellars of the villa with the intention of promoting the renowned regional specialties. Its uniqueness is a brazier to view where we are cooking dishes
we wanted a bistecca fiorentina - the famous local T bone steak - on charcoil medium grilled and we got it there! You pay by weight and we paid 60⬠for the steak. You can order some side dishes ( veggs and potatoes) Staff was friendly and quick.Easy to park (free) on the premises ( slight slope) - next to the hotel villa il patriarca. We would appreciate more comfy seats as the iron terrace seats are too hard to sit on a entire eve...Thanks for this good review and for the helpful directions you have written.Attention and research of the matter is for us a must, we guarantee our customers always top quality products!Best regards

Piatti tipici toscani aperto anche a pranzo
Of course this is the "farmer's restaurant." They always know where to eat best. Here the quality of the ingredients is exactly what one expects of southeastern Tuscany--local, fresh, genuine. The quality of cooking, the same--handmade pasta, desserts, meat butchered on the premises and grilled to perfection. It's simple, country food done simply, and it is so, so much better than most anything one finds elsewhere.Having eaten here many times over the past 10 years, I would say that it's better now than ever and that it shines in the wintertime. Sitting near the open fire pit, drinking a young local red wine and satisfying your hunger pangs with the amuse-bouche of warm pates and spreads with crusty bread, before digging into a heaping plate of hand-rolled pici with wild boar sauce is a dining experience that's hard to top anywhere.Stefano and his hard-working staff are lovely and kind. Definitely book a table at The Contadino--You'll eat like a farmer, born with a silver spoon in his mouth!
