Things to do in Benahavis
Recently opened restaurant also with outdoor tables, in the lovely town of Benahavis, a short drive from Marbella. The food, without exception was wonderful. The menu is a mix of innovative dishes and traditional roast meats and fish (the kitchen has a HUGE wood oven which, it appears, is used for much of their food, the wonderful vegetables included). I can recommend absolutely everything we ordered: escalibada (a type of roasted peppers and aubergines), the green gazpacho, tuna steak, t-bone steak and a freshly caught fish (pargo). All were cooked absolutely perfectly. The side dishes were as good as the mains. The desserts also deserve a special mention...a different approach to lemon meringue pie and a gorgeous chocolate mousse - both delicious. Service was very friendly, slightly hectic at the beginning, as we were a large table and had ordered so much! However, all worked out perfectly in the end. We have booked to go back this weekend as we enjoyed it so much and want to try other items on the menu. Perfect place.
Somos un Restaurante familiar con una larga tradición gastronómica, trasmitida de generación en generación, cuidando siempre de la esencia de nuestros platos; entre ella cabe destacar el cordero al horno, rabo de toro, carnes a la braza y pescados del dÃa
Had a lovely meal here. Duck was cooked to perfection and the fish was so fresh. Vino very reasonably priced... great for large groups

This has the best views from the terrace anywhere near here. It seems to be missing a trick on making this place the best restaurant between La Zagaleta ,Los Arqueros, Monte Halcones and San Pedro . It's fabulous if you order well but he plasticised menus of pizzas ( by the way, only from 17.00) and menu del Dia which doesn't vary ( plasticised menus) so is this a menu del dia? plus a couple of pre set salads etc really says it all. Though between the lines the specially prepared paella is as good as you can get anywhere. Two for lunch, the usual covers of breads and ok olives, paella mixta , one glass of wine and a jarra of sangria plus a small bottle of water just under 50 euros. It was good, no doubt but at Alfredos last night the food was much better, the bottle of fabulous Albariño, small water plus free entrees, free drinks st the end and quality food not in a plastic menu was the same price. The reports I read here are correct but, if you know what you want and order well it's ok. The pizzas in the evening are good because you can order a shared pizza with half one choice and half another. But with a view and place like this does it really want to do pizzas, so close to Monte Halcones. Such a shame in my opinion because I do like this place and will go back. I am told that el Coto has closed up. I wish I could understand enough to take this place over and make it top class, and get rid of plasticised menus!
