Prairie House is a solid restaurant serving reasonably good food. Every thing we tried was enjoyable. The table favorite was the Banditos. The jalapeno wrapped in chicken then wrapped in bacon had outstanding flavors. On the flip side, the burnt ends were dry and over cooked. They were okay, but I would not order them again. The brisket queso was nice. The fried mushrooms and cheese were nicely done, but nothing special. I really appreciated that they had craft beers on the menu.The restaurant itself is very large with lots of seating in the bar and two side rooms. The decor feels a bit like a rustic lodge. Saltgrass and Texas Roadhouse come to mind.Service was nicely done. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and informative. When orders were delayed we were informed. I like the service team.Even though I enjoyed myself, I'm not sure I'd make a return visit. It's good food, but not great. The pricing makes it a little too much for me. Our total bill for four people was $166.80 with tax and tip. That's $40 a plate. I gave it four stars because a lot of people will love this place.

I have never had so many compliments on a brisket. Took two to my sons graduation. We made brisket nachos with leftovers. OMG they were incredible. I highly recommend this place. For take out or have lunch there! I stopped one afternoon for smoked chicken. Geez, my mouth is watering while writing this review LOL

Was craving BBQ and just happen to see their sign. Flipped a u - turn and so glad I did. The cost was very reasonable and the food was great. I had their brisket plate and my wife got pull pork. They were both to die for. The southwest pasta was amazing. The BBQ sauce was wow, sweet and spicy at same time.

We found Rooster's in Decatur and loved it. Months later we were ecstatic when we were driving through downtown Denton and saw this one. Had to try it and so glad everything was just as good. Love the feel of the place, the service and food. My favorite is the brisket burger. I'm not a brisket guy but this thing is awesome. Also, the chips that come standard are good but also try their onion petals. Prices are very good for the quality you receive. Parking can be tough so try driving around back if full in the front.
