We were in Athens for the day, and the 306 was recommended. We went with a friend, and were not disappointed. I got the pulled pork plate, with baked beans, potato salad and a roll. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. Free refills on the drinks made for an enjoyable stay. Staff was friendly ad helpul. We felt it was a good deal.

Okay, seriously. Whitt's BBQ is the best barbecue! When those from Athens have moved out of town and come back to visit, they load up on Whitts to take back with them. No joke. Their sweet tea is truly 'southern' sweet tea, their barbecue is tender and a fabulous flavor, and the service and prices is top notch to cap it all off! If you're going to be in or driving through Athens, AL, be sure to grab a plate. You will not be disappointed!

Some of the best "take out" BBQ around. The shredded pork with vinegar sauce hits the spot. I have been going there for decades and continue to enjoy the food each time.

I love this place. It is located in a cinder block building out in farm fields of NE Alabama. The ribs are to die for as is the pulled pork. Flick the pit master, chef, cook, server is a wonderful, humorous, engaging person. This is absolutely some of the best BBQ you will eat. The sides that Flick prepares are delicious. They only open Thursday - Sunday. I work in this area 3 or 4 times a year and never miss eating there at least once. Also we have friends living in Huntsville and travel out to Mr. Crites when we visit. If you want the best BBQ ever don't miss this place.
