Find out what Barbecue restaurants to try in Ajaccio. Ajaccio, Corsica's main city, is fun to visit at any time of year. But if you're a secret (or not-so-secret) Napoleon Bonaparte groupie, plan to be there on August 15 and join the celebration of the birthday of Ajaccio's most famous son. Casa Buonaparte, Napoleon's family home and birthplace, is worth a visit, as is the town cathedral. Or just enjoy the Corsican sun.

Un restaurant chaleureux au cÅur du centre ville historique, une cuisson au four à braise Josper de délicieuses viandes du monde et poissons de pêche locale
Very good meat, well cooked and tasty, but the service was not in line with the level in which the restaurant would like to be.Not enough attention to the customers, probably because they recently opened so it seems they don't have experience yet.Disappointing since the beer they served us was not cold and we were the second customers of the night. Only 2 options of beer available.

The Rendez Vous, restaurant and wine bar located on Port Tino Rossi - Ajaccio. A refined traditional cuisine, a quality wine cellar. And enjoy a panoramic view of the old port of Ajaccio.
We loved the food - simple Corsican cuisine, well prepared with great tasting ingredients. The space as well is worth mentioning - simple, chic, with stylish furniture. The location is right on one of the ports of Ajaccio.

This seems to be a place where people just keep coming back. The owners seem to be familiair with a lot of the guests. In August they tend to only use the outdoor dining area, which is covered and home to the barbecue where all the meat is prepared, usually while the bbq-cook is talking to the guests or helping out with serving the rest of the food from the kitchen. The food is good, this place is mostly about meat though, there's a 1 kilo cote de boeuf for two. I preferred the entrecote though, as the big meat's a bit too hard to cook right and we had to have it cook some more as it was actually raw inside. But part of it is the atmosphere and the experience. There are quite some desert options which are basically all good. Again in Corsica there's no vegetables or salad with any meal so you're best of ordering one of the big salads to share with the table. The side dish salad is useless, the vegetables are ok. You may need to reserve a table as it's so popular and a lot of (large) families will fill the restaurant in no time, but it'll be worth it. It's not cheap (as you'll probably order more than just the main dish), but you'll have had a nice meal and evenining (they're only open nights from 20.00).
