The food was satisfying and reasonably priced (about 18 Euros per person). We did not have room for dessert, but the people sitting near us had Dame Blanche (ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream) and it looked appetizing and was a large serving.

- WINNER OF 'BEST LOCAL RESTAURANT 2019' - A brand new organic (veggie) restaurant, focused on sustainability and exclusivity. We work with organic and quality products that can be found in fine dining restaurants, but with a funky atmosphere and setting.
Funky little place... Small inside but great friendly service. I was alone and the staff made me feel very welcome indeed. Even chatted about what I had been up to during my visit to Zaandam.I ordered hot chocolate and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was fab. Really enjoyed this little place.. funky music.. a lot of cocktails on the menu along with beers and wines.I ate early (around 5pm) so did not soak up the evening atmosphere but I would imagine that ambience is very cool in the evenings.Great little place... recommend a visit for some decent food at a decent price!!Hi Suitcasesally22, Thank you very much for your review :DReviews like this, always makes us blush! We hope to see you again. Kind Regards, Dévon Valies (your waiter) Burger Cartel

Not so easy to find a service that is fast in The Netherlands. The Wonder's has a service that is fast and friendly. The food however is reasonable, but the atmosphere is very nice. It's a place to enjoy in the outside tables having a beer in a sunny day. It's located in a nice small square in Zaandam, just a walking distance from the Tsar Peter's house.

We had tried a couple of other restaurants prior to finding Manzoâs only to be told their kitchens had closed - in fairness this was a Wednesday night at around 9.10pm. Initially we got the same reaction at Manzoâs, but our very helpful server checked with the chef who confirmed as long as we had a choice of burger, ribs or chicken we could eat.We both elected to have the chicken and it was totally delicious. It was served with the ubiquitous and very tasty fries, and asparagus (well cooked and not mushy). The chicken was off the bone and so moist and tasty. Excellent! All the waiting staff, and the chef, were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience and we will return

The building where our restaurant is at, used to be a butcher in the 18th century. The previous name of the restaurant was 'Smuiger' because of 2 beautiful tiled fireplaces that in the local tongue are called 'Smuigers'. Nowadays the name reflects the his
We went to Slagers for lunch on the way and dinner on the way back to the train from Zaanse Schans. The hot ginger tea is lovely and we both enjoyed the vegetarian open sandwich on their dark brown bread. At dinner Myles had the steak and chips, which was cooked to perfection, and I had the ravioli, lovely fresh pasta.

Husband and I stayed 5 nights in Zaandijk Zaanse Schanz just about a 10 minute walk from this place (early December). We ended up having dinner here twice in the 5 nights because we liked it so much. Hubby is a craft beer enthusiast and home-brewer. I love good food. It was a perfect match at Hoop! The service was always VERY good, although the place was never more than 4-5 tables full. Overall a very chill, peaceful vibe. Certainly family friendly and not for a party scene (thank you, Jesus!). We had the salad of the month both times because it was SO delicious. Had the fish and chips, and the cheese burger with fries. Both really outstanding. The best was the mustard soup, which sounds pretty awful since I don't care for mustard (hubby loves it), but I'm glad I tried it because it, too, was outstanding. I even emailed the brewery after returning from to the States to get the recipe and they kindly obliged. Truly wish this place existed here near us because I think we'd be going once a week! Thank you, Brouwerij Hoop, for two excellent visits!
