Came here for breakfast after seeing all the amazing reviews expecting something out of this world but left feeling a little underwhelmed if Iâm honest. Sausages and bacon were undercooked and it had no atmosphere. On the positive prices were good and there were lovely views, waiter also very friendly, but I wouldnât rush back. We called in for Sunday lunch, I had the pork dinner my wife had the beef dinner. We both loved it all the vegetables were fresh, the portions were ample. All the staff were very helpful ant the pub had a great atmosphere full of familys having a good time. We will definitely be going back

What can you say about Michael! He is the best chef and is supported by the staff, family. Always excellent, homemade food at its best! If you like proper food then you will love it here! Lots of specials on the blackboards, donât miss them! We booked a table for 4, for a Tuesday lunchtime. It was full, so you need to book if you don't want to be disappointed. Sunday lunch in particular. We had 3 meats dinner with homemade Yorkshire puddings, homemade shepherds pie with homemade Yorkshire pudding and a corned beef and onion pie. All served with carrots, cauliflower and cabbage plus mash and THE best chips ever! Plus roast gravy, and lots of it! Choice of desserts, include apple, bilberry, rhubarb and apple pies, jam roll poly and homemade rice pudding!! To name a few. You really must try. I recommend.

I phoned to make a last minute booking for myself and my mum and luckily they were able to accommodate us. We were seated in front of the bar and our waitress Alice introduced herself. She was chatty, warm and friendly.We had allowed plenty of time to eat as we didn't know how busy they would be and we had tickets to a show that evening but service was prompt so there was no rush for us. The food was absolutely delicious. Thanks a lot!

Not quite a 5* place for reasons I will explain later. But first the good points: the food is tasty and well-presented. Itâs great value for money. The owners definitely welcome you and the service is attentive but not oppressive! You get crystal glasses for your drinks! On the downside - place is a little small and gets noisy. My particular put-off was the parading of guests (maybe customers - more probably friends of the owners) with their dogs! Staff were stroking the dogs and then served us our food! No thanks! One of the dogs was big enough to be mistaken for a small horse! Finally people go outside to smoke - close to the open front door - all the smoke ends up back inside!Hey Costas!Thank you for kind words on our food and drink offerings! We take hygiene very seriously which is evident from our 5 star from the Food Standard Agency. As we are dog friendly and provide them with treats, staff are trained to wash their hands if they provide the warm welcome that we encourage here. If customers are exiting the premises to smoke, it is their responsibility to ensure they are away from the door and non-smokers are not affected by their second hand smoke.
