A group of us visited the pub for dinner in mid-August expecting a great bartender (Bobby is fun, friendly, efficient and offers great hospitality and creative concoctions) and a lovely environment. What we were not expecting was to be wowed by the food. Over the past couple of years, chefs have come and gone and the food has been inconsistent. We were all pleasantly surprised! The current Chef is outstanding! We were all very pleased with our dinners which included almost all the items on the menu (lamb chops, risotto, burgers, and fish tacos). We all agreed that the pub would be back on our list of â gotoâ places!

Tuesday is the night for their burger specials (and Wednesday is taco and margarita night). The place was pretty full for both the indoor and outdoor tables but we were able to be immediately seated. If you're here before 6 PM they have appetizers specials as well. For the burger specials, you can order one of the three types they offered on special or you can order from their regular menu too. They have a full bar so there is a wide variety of drinks available. Service was prompt and pleasant. The vibe was very comfortable and friendly and many locals were here enjoying a pleasant evening out as well.There is a senior discount for over 65. Parking is in the lot or on street. There are steps up to the front door but there is a ramp on the east side which comes up to the outdoor dining area and then you can enter the main building.We'll definitely return for another good meal!

Iâve lived in Bellows Falls for only 19 years, making me a new comer. Wunderbar is far more recent -- it looks slightly sinister from outside (dark, odd hoursâ¦..) so husband and I were cautious about going. It looks like (and the on-line menu seems to confirm this) a trendy place for the younger crowd with more money to toss about than we have. Went here recently for a book-store related event and loved it! Butâ¦.. the crowd was a literate one, mostly gray haired, as are we, part of the older gay set in town. The vibe that evening was great, the welcome warm, the bar busy and the Alain, as the sole waiter, running his buns off keeping up with orders. We had a fabulous Maine IPA, but at $8 the 16oz glass it seemed a bit high. Service was a trifle slow â but I suspect that may have been secondary to more book people there than anticipated. For those looking for a trendy, younger vibe this is the place to be. For we older folk, looking for a spot to have drinks and conversation following a movie or theater event â well, there isnât any place in town for doing so, not even here. Sorry â glad Wunderbar is here, but it does not appear to cater to the full population of the town. Iâd suggest to Remy and Alain that while the young folk have the cash now, it will be the older set that is settled and stable that will keep you open.

I have gone there 3-4 times. I have ordered the same drink and each time it tastes different each time. There food prices seem a little pricey but I have not eaten any of it so I cannot confirm quality.

You can't beat the main dining room for cozy dining on a fall day. We got here at 7pm on a Friday night - it's very charming, very cozy for sure. We might have hit them on a bad night - they were understaffed and we waited literally 30 minutes just to get a drink order. Then, after asking if they could make a negroni, they brought me something that was not a negroni. I realized the bartender put in white vermouth instead of red vermouth and when I asked about it, she was defensive and said "Well, I've always made them that way." That may be, but look it up - Negronis are virtually never made with white vermouth which is a totally different drink than red. But why are we arguing? You mixed the drink wrong and then tried to defend your choice of the incorrect vermouth. My son thought I was being unreasonable. Maybe, but they could have just said they'd didn't know how to make it when I asked. But I digress. I just wanted a "woops, sorry" but instead, I simply asked for a vodka drink.I got the goat cheese beet salad which was fine - and the soup of the day was okay/not great. My son's trout was very good and very fresh - mashed potatoes so so. I mean, for where it is located, it is a nice place to spend a few hours, but in terms of service (super slow), quality of food, you can do better, although maybe not within 30 miles.
