A Guarda has a range of tapas restaurants that fringe the pretty harbour. It's potluck as to where you may end up eating as it always seems quite busy! So if it looks OK and a table is available we ended up at The Cetlic!Menus are all pretty similar if you are looking at Tapas; one waitress spoke English and all staff friendly and efficency. The tapas we decided to order were good, we enjoyed the stuffed seafood peppers. However the experience of eating Tapas still exceeds the actual food! We personally still do not get the Pulpa experience!! But it made for an enjoyable lunch, lovely views and great walks around the harbour. A Guarda is definitely worth a visit with its pretty pastel houses. Views of Mt Tecla behind.Note: You can also get to A Guarda by the wonderful Ferry that crosses between Caminha in Portugal to A Guarda every 30 minutes, by car or on foot. 4 euros car and 2 adults single. Brilliant!

We went on a Sunday so no daily menu deal. The à la carte choices included barbecued meat and some fish dishes - we went for grilled beef short rib, which came with home-made chips. Very generous portion and after a tapas portion of squid and some jamon croquetas, we were pretty full. Charming service and good local house wine. 20 euros per person seemed perfectly reasonable.
Where to Eat in Vila Nova de Cerveira: The Best Restaurants and Bars
What to do and see in Vila Nova de Cerveira, Portugal: The Best Places and Tips

It was a bank holiday in Portugal and we opted for the only place we could find that was open. It's a lovely location, on the banks of the Minho river, with plenty of outdoor seating and room for children to play.Three glasses of wine, two omelettes, one toasted sandwich and a coffee and the bill came to â¬20.20 - very reasonable and very welcome at the end of a long day.

Local restaurant with portuguese and spanish delicious food. we only serve typical dishes, at a very accessible price! We have a special wine seleccion and imported beers. Come visit us and you will be fan!
This place has probably gone from one we wouldn't like our kids to go to, to one where we'd definitely want to take them - from the old "tasca" to a nice restaurant, with great food, well cooked and seasoned. You can taste several typical flavours with a different touch. Our favourite was "ovos do purgatório". Staff is very kind, and aware about food allergies. The space itself is simple, but cozy. We'll definitely come back!
