WELCOME! Penn's Tavern is a historical waterfront restaurant, located on the beautiful Susquehanna River, just south of Sunbury, in Fishers Ferry, PA. Whether you choose to dine in our historic 1700's Room, our newley renovated Microbrew River Room, or on
I've been wanting to try this place for a while, but it has a reputation of being "expensive". My wife and I celebrated our birthdays (first visit for both of us) at Penn's Tavern in December 2018, we were both pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. The staff is professional, but yet friendly. The food (taste) was very good, and yet it wasn't any more expensive as other local area restaurants in this same bracket. We will be excited to return in the Summer when we can sit with a view of the river. The only negative I could find was the parking lot. It's a rough (and very dark) walk from the parking lot to the Tavern. This hidden gem is every bit worth driving a little out of the way to enjoy a romantic dinner for two.

Probably wouldn't go back. We ate here the other night. Atmosphere not great, very old outdated looking. No drink menu and the server was not knowledgeable on what drinks they carried, kept having to go ask the bartender. Wings and fries were good. Cheeseburger very overdone.Service was ok if just a bit slow.Prices were in line with other bars in the valley.Better food elsewhere.
We stopped here after picking up vehicle from a nearby dealership, the directions from google were wrong and had us driving right past it. It's in the strip mall next to the liquor store. Inside there is a small bar and a few small tables, I would not recommend this place for a large group due to the lack of seating. There was a nice selection of craft beers on tap and prices were reasonable. The bar tender was very friendly without being annoying if you know what I mean. We each got a beer and split an appetizer and sandwich. The portions for the food was very large and I'm glad we didn't get two sandwiches because it would've been way too much. Everything was enjoyable and we hope to get back here soon to try more things. They also have a cooler with additional drinks you can buy and drink there or take home as well.
