The Griffin Inn, a traditional Yorkshire Counrty Pub set in the spectacular West Ridngs of Yorkshire. The building dates back to 1642 and retains its original stones features and floors. A pub of real character that offers a welcome to one and all. The Gr
A great little pub, with excellent ales and great food, the staff were very attentive, and the menu, had some very interesting choices, I had the sausage sandwich which was an excellent quality sausage, the atmosphere was a bit quiet, which was a surprise on a Saturday afternoonThank you for your review, we are so happy that you enjoyed the food and we are working hard to spread the word about what we do at the Griffin to attract more interest and custom and breathe some life into this grand old place

Celebrated my special birthday here with a family party of 9. We were given a private room which was just perfect for our needs. The food was very good and well presented and everybody was happy with their chosen meal. Thank you to all the staff for making my birthday special. I shall certainly recommend this place to other people.

We are a country pub and restaurant serving good quality home cooked food Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 9pm and from 12 noon until 7pm on Sundays. The pub opens at 4pm Monday to Saturday and from 12noon on Sunday. We have recently improved the beer garden
Took my mum today for Sunday lunch and had a lovely meal, the food is second to none, absolutely delicious. Everything was perfect, the beautifully cooked beef, stunning vegetables and topped off with real beef gravy. Staff also excellent. This place is the best for miles and is highly recommended.

Picturesque 14th century inn serving only homemade food and real ale from independent brewers. Huge range of alcoholic and soft drinks.Third generation owner managers ensure a warm welcome. Please note that on weekday lunchtimes, only our famous cold meat
Weâve been a number of times for lunch & the help yourself buffet is always good. Iâm not a mad fan of scotch eggs but the ones here are delicious . Itâs a fixed price for two or three courses. The desserts are also delicious too

The Alma Inn is a traditional countryside pub with guest rooms, set in an idyllic rural location in the hamlet of Cottonstones, near Sowerby Bridge, Halifax. Offering a warm Yorkshire welcome to visitors for around 150 years, The Alma Inn has earned a rep
Ate at the Alma several times in the last few months the last being when seven of us had dinner on a Monday night. We had starters of pate, garlic mushrooms and prawns. Everyone enjoyed their starter. Main courses of half a chicken, was exactly that and was cooked to perfection and the pork belly the same. I can also recommend the lamb which I have had on previous visits. Dinner nicely washed down with a couple of bottles of Riesling there was no room for sweet. A special mention must go to the young lad who looks after the restaurant, he really appears to like his job. One of my pet hates is wine glasses that are not sparklingly clean no such problem here as they pass with flying colours. Unusual for a pub restaurant. I would certainly recommend the Alma and the fact it is on my doorstep is a bonus.

We haven't been here for a few years, but we went as a family , for a Tuesday night the place was well attended with a good vibe. Staff friendly and polite. We were seated quickly in the upstairs restaurant . Service was good. Tues is Pie + a drink night, the food was awesome. I had the chicken and mushroom pie with a puff pastry top, the filling was fresh rich and creamy, served with chunky chips. We also sampled the Beef roast dinner, the vegetarian pie and burger, all good but my son would have preferred the burger in a traditional bun , not Ciabatta. All in all a good night and prices are reasonable. Compliments to the chef and staff.

Cobblestones Bar & Grill, is a fantastic contemporary upbeat Mediterranean inspired Grill Restaurant, situated alongside the canal at Sowerby Bridge Wharf. There is an extensive choice of delicious dishes on the menu, which are cooked to a very high stand
I wish this place was closer to home (there again in the interests of my waistline maybe not). This is the second time Iâve chosen this restaurant for my wifeâs birthday and our anniversary family get together. Geographically it is central for our spread-out family and opportunity to meet as a family are rare, so this place has to be something special, and special it is, the food was great plentiful and well prepared everybody enjoyed it immensely. But the icing on the cake are the staff, attentive, efficient and very friendly nothing was too much trouble. The setting is great and parking easy, itâs a gem of a find and we will be back.Dear DadyGichHigh praise indeed! What a superb review and lovely comments. Thank you for choosing Cobblestones for your celebrations. We also appreciate the mention of the staff. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Kind regardsCobblestones Bar and Grill

Bar & Restaurant, Vast Gin and spirits selection, Cocktails, Steak, Vegetarian friendly, Vegan Friendly, Dog friendly bar, Walkers welcome, Alfresco Dining
We have had many meals here, from myself and my wife to family gatherings and have always been pleased with everything. However, the last time we went, we both had burgers. Both were very undercooked, over half the inside pink, the coleslaw looked and tasted rather strange and the 'chips' were skin on chipped potatoes that were hard. When my wife complained to our waitress, her reply was"sorry about that". It would have been nice if the chef had acknowledged our complaint. Careful Copper Cow, there are lots of places to eat nearby!Hi there, we are extremely sorry to learn that your most recent visit with us was not up to our usual standards. All of our meat produce is cooked on our grill and is therefore closely monitored throughout the cooking process to ensure it reaches the correct level of cooking before being sent to the restaurant. This was not the case on this occasion and we will ensure that all our chefs are made aware of the matter to improve our quality going forward. We will also be speaking to our waiting staff with regards to customer complaints, as our head chef was not made aware of he problem at the time, which prevented your meal being rectified and your experience being brought to the standards you had previously enjoyed with us.We do hope to see you again soon and we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. Thanks,Matt

Weâve been to The Moorcock three times now. Once for the bar menu and twice in quick succession for the Tasting Menu. To be honest we werenât that impressed with the bar menu, the crispy potatoes were amazing but our other choices on the night werenât that great so it took a while for me to convince my other half to come back. We went for the tasting menu with his parents back in July and were blown away. The food was fantastic, the Rhubarb and Onion Tart was everyoneâs favourite on the night. The service was great too, they didnât have the wine we wanted but gave us lots of other suggestions of what to try, all of which were delicious. We went for the tasting menu again at the end of August and were a little disappointed that the Tasting Menu was exactly the same, even down to the snacks. There were a few tweaks in the presentation and slightly different berries with the mutton but that was it. Iâm an avid follower of The Moorcock on social media so see their foraging trips and polytunnels and all the produce from the kitchen garden but this all seems to be reserved for the ever changing bar menu. Anyway, the food was still delicious, service was maybe even better than the first time. Iâm not sure how often the tasting menu is changed, Iâm assuming it must be seasonally, but we will definitely be back to again. Weâre lucky itâs only a 10 min drive from our house.
