My wife and I were walking down Bay St. during a recent trip to Beaufort. About 4:30, we started getting hungry because we hadnât eaten lunch. We mulled over our restaurant choices and decided to go for the barbecue. It was too early for dinner so the place was practically empty. They sat us at a table and then pretty much ignored us. It seemed like all the staff were getting ready for the impending dinner rush. However, once they realized we hadnât been waited on, they were very gracious and apologetic. The service was great after that. My wife had pulled pork and I had pulled chicken. We were both quite satisfied with the portions and the flavor. All our side dishes were tasty, too. The sautéed zucchini and squash was delicious. The baked beans were very good. Also, I ordered a very generous fresh and crisp garden salad before the meal. It was easily enough for two people. The lemon vinaigrette dressing was quite good also. There was a bonus to boot on top off this already pleasant dining experience. I ordered a 16 oz. glass of the house draught lager. To my amazement, when I received the bill, I was only charged $1.50. Apparently, we unwittingly walked in on a happy hour drink special. When we first sat down, I expected this to be a bad experience because we were initially ignored. In the end, however, my wife and I liked this barbecue place quite well.

Located in the historic Beaufort bank building. Panini's is a delightful blend of old world Italian charm and new world cuisine. We adapt our menu seasonally to feature only the freshest local ingredients. Unique and crispy Stone-Baked Pizza, Panini sandw
My family enjoyed their panini- seafood and steak. I was not too lucky with the chicken Marsala. It was dry and the garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic and were the equivalent of TV dinner potatoes. Caesar Salad was drenched in dressing, ask for it on the side. If you like sweet seafood you might like the calamari- it is really sweet with the almond crust. Service was ok- waitress was nice, front check in were not friendly.

Creative Lowcountry Cuisine.... Plums is known for our ever changing menus. We combine seasonal fresh local ingredients in Global dishes.
Had the shrimp salad for lunch and it was delicious. The salads looked amazing and their fruit was very fresh and in season. A friend had the BLT and it looked delish! Would definitely eat here again. They have a nice dining area outside right on the battery/waterfront and it was very nice and relaxing!

Inventive Eclectic wood-fired pizza served along with hearty Italian dishes, craft beers & wine in a sleek historic setting.
This place was lovely in all aspects - flooring, furniture, walls, oven, and art. The pizza was good too. Beer selection was limited and there were no local beers on the list (even though the Beaufort area has some great breweries). White wine selection and prices were reasonable. Red wines were over-priced. The service was "okay."I was on crutches and slipped on the way to the table because of rain water on the floor near the doorway. The host noticed but was unconcerned and gave no help in getting seated and finding a place for my crutches. The waitress was likewise indifferent. No southern pleasantries or common courtesies by anyone we encountered. They seemed to be just escorting bodies through without treating them like people. My final comment is on the menu. Every pizza with protein (with the exception of possibly one) had pork. One of the people in my party was Jewish, so that limited the pizza selection to 2 choices: margarita or mushroom. If you are a kosher-observing Jew, I suggest reviewing the menu before going.

First off, we were greeted with a smile and some humor and immediately felt welcome! Julie was our bartender/server and she was all the things youâre looking for. Knowledgeable and funny and her recommendations were spot on. Conversation was light, funny and timed right food came out hot, and very fast. Beer is ice cold! Portions were huge and you wonât leave hungry! Would highly recommend to anyone with a mouth! Food was awesome!

Wren Bistro and Bar is a locally owned and operated restaurant and bar that features an ever evolving menu for both lunch and dinner. The kitchen uses delicious locally caught seafood, great cuts of steak, juicy chicken, and tasty pasta dishes. The portio
We live in Beaufort and give Wren a try every couple of years hoping they will get it together, but I just don't think it will ever happen. It's like a restaurant in the Atlanta airport - it stays in business because of people passing through (tourists). It they had to depend on locals, it would have closed years ago. Today's twisted caesar salad had cabbage in it - now that's quite a twist, and I have a hard time understanding how anyone could think cabbage belongs in a caesar. I doubt it was "artistic license" on the part of the chef; more likely, just some slacker tossing whatever green stuff they could find in the bowl. The only thing caesar about that salad was the dressing. My dining companion's fish and chips would be more appropriately named breading and chips. Another's chicken sandwich was just OK. I think we are truly done there. Beaufort has too many other choices now. Chik Fil A beats Wren by a mile in terms of food, service, absolutely everything! Next time, we will go there and save a ton of money and have a really good lunch.

This is such a delicious restaurant, with great atmosphere, and even greater service. We had the crab cakes, fried shrimp, pasta, and fried oysters, and of course hush puppies. We eat seafood all the time since we are from Charleston SC, and everyone in our group agreed that this restaurant has some of the best seafood we have ever had. Our server was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. Can't wait to go back!!

We are a locally owned family restaurant specializing in seafood, steak, ribs, and a variety of great desserts. The restaurant is under new ownership and management as of April 2017. Please stop back in if you've been gone for a while, or if you've never
Though this wasn't near as bad as some of the other restaurants I've been to here it was not good either. Every place I have been to here that serves Seafood (besides Dockside) overcooks their entrees. The food here was just overall bland, not seasoned well and my family got the fried shrimp and it was overbreaded tiny pieces of shrimp. It wasn't as poor as Foolish Frog but close. Family style atmosphere though so decently nice on the inside.

Beautiful rustic restaurant nestled on the Lowcountry barrier island, with stunning marsh views, serving local shrimp from the shrimp boats just up the road, beautiful fresh seafood and local produce from Demsey Farm. We pride ourselves in fresh prepared
This is one of our two favorite restaurants in the area. We saved it for our last night at Hunting Island. We had shrimp and crab cakes. Both were excellent. The crab cakes were served with what husband said was fantastic risotto and a corn-bean-pepper medley. My shrimp was served with good fries but I spent my time on the excellent shrimp and slaw. Service was good and the atmosphere pleasant. Only ding was they did not have baked potatoes.
