We wait from July 8 to Cafeteria Biancomangiare in Ragusa Sweet & Salty in lovely scenery such as Baroque Visit us
Four of ate lunch here al fresco. Service was adequate, and the menu had many options. Prices were good, especially since the restaurant is so close to the Duomo. We shared lasagna, caprese salad, and a huge antipasto platter of cheeses, salamis, and little vegetable pies. Beers and Proseccos. Had a hard time getting the check.

It is basically a good pizza place, their specialiy is the arrotolata , a rolled pizza stuffed with various ingredients. The value for what you eat would be fantastic .. Only if that 20% service charge was not included.. Having said that the waiters were really friendly and constantly busy with the service. Well done guys. Only though you don t expect to pay that much service when staff is dresses with shorts and t shirts. Overall though great food and smiley service! Will come back on my next trip to marina!!

Normally I am wary of bars or cafes on squares or near duomo for being too touristy, however this completely goes against that rule. The staff are super friendly and the manager speaks really good English, and makes great drinks. I visited twice and even though the first time was extremely busy being a holiday, they were so accommodating. Second time I tried the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised, coming from somewhere where I have fish and chips every week, the chips were really well done and the fish nice and fresh. Only recommendation could be to offer tomato sauce for homesick kiwis ;) Don't miss this place for cheap but yummy drinks and good food with plenty of people watching opportunities.

Ragusa has a limited number of attractions. A key one is the Church of San Giorgio in the Piazza Duomo. The "Al Borgo" is situated at the bottom of its' impressive but exhausting "stairway to heaven". This " caffe bistrot" takes full advantage of its' situation and has a large selection of drinks and simple bistro snacks that should satisfy or re-energise the tourists who go into the church. It is a simple, inexpensive bar with attentive waiters, eager to practice their English from which you can watch the world go by. More could be made of the food offering but you can tell that they have an efficient microwave in the back and I'd be sceptical of any description of the place as providing home cooked, Ragusan cuisine.Truthfully, it is a handy place to meet and while we were there, we saw a wedding (very chic ! and with a chapter of Bologna's "Hells Angels" in attendance !!!) and a funeral (got to admire how the local pallbearers managed to negotiate the stairway "in sync").Cheap and cheerful, clean and handy - in so many ways a place that you wished you had at the bottom of your street back home.

We had dinner at Caffe Italia which is located right in the main square, beneath the cathedral. It was a buffet of Sicilian delicacies including Sun dried tomatoes, cheese, prosciutto, olives, fresh figs, stuffed tomatoes, and other goodies. Excellent quality. Gelato for dessert. Yummy!
