Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Plattsburgh. Sitting only 18 miles South of the US border with Quebec, Plattsburgh was once a major hub in the fur trade with Montreal. The city is made for walking, full of beautiful turn of the century buildings and manicured parks. A River Walk follows the Saranac River as it cuts through town, ending at the shores of Lake Champlain, home to Champy, the American cousin of the Loch Ness Monster. The surrounding area is part of Adirondack Park, America's largest wilderness preserve outside of Alaska.

Sip is just about to celebrate their one year anniversary. We stopped by this weekend for a beer and an appetizer. Very nice! They offer about a half dozen selections of draft beers that are typically not found elsewhere. Their Sweet Potato Nachos were to die for. Delish! Very friendly service. The decore makes it a comfortable spot to stop into for a drink or a bite to eat. My only complaint, and I had the same issue with their predecessor The Bagel Pit when they occupied this space, is that itâs cold inside. The front door, everytime it is open, letâs winter in at full force. Of course, this isnât an issue during the warmer months of the year. My solution would be to construct a curtain near the door to help block out the cold as guests come and go. Even with this complaint, we plan to be return customers due to all the positives Sip has.

We went with another couple and had an amazing time. Our waitress was so professional and friendly, she made the night. My husband like to tease the waitresses and she was a great sport. They had a special that night that was out of this world with taste. We sat in a nice quite booth with the decor very Italian. Highly recommend this restaurant to all.

I honestly appreciated that the establishment puts itself up front when it comes to honoring Vets like me. I came in for the free dinner and I wasn't disappointed. I got the fried shrimp which came with cole slaw and fires. There were plenty of shrimp on the plate and they tasted good. I only had to pay for my drink. I even got a card for $5 OFF on my next visit. Well done.

Usually weâre really big fans of Restaurant 99, but yesterday everything seemed slightly âoffâ. We were there for a late lunch, arrived about 2 pm, and we were seated right away. Immediately I noticed a very long hair on our table which I pushed off the table with a napkin. Our waitress came and took our orders and immediately after giving her our orders I asked for a bowl of their yummy popcorn. Surprisingly, my salad arrived 30 seconds later...where was the popcorn? Oh yeah, it came as I was midway through my salad. My boyfriend ordered the veggie burger with a side salad which was very good, however, my chicken fried chicken was another story. Iâve ordered this many times in the past and always enjoyed it but yesterday it had a slightly sour taste. The potatoes were really pasty as was the sauce that covered both the potatoes and the chicken. I ended up returning the whole thing. The manager ticked me off because he implied I was lying about the chicken by saying he tasted it and it was fine and asked if I ever ordered it before, implying that I didnât know what the chicken should taste like. Not good customer service. However, the chicken was removed from the bill as it shouldâve been. We're so sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at this location. We love craft beer and are always changing our taps. We serve specialty pizzas, burgers and sandwiches! With a pool table and dart board, in a family friendly atmosphere, we have something for everyone!
It's my Monday Margarita place and they're STILL BIG, tasty and ONLY $4 ALL night. I paired it with a special burger that IF I remember properly had green apples, bacon and cheese BUT tasted awesome. This one came with fires standard as well as a pickle. I have some problem remembering because I HAD TWO Margaritas this particular time. You'll just have to trust me when I say they're worth it. I've NEVER been disappointed with either the drinks or the food anytime I've eaten here.

We had a group of 16, 4 separate families so we were nervous. The hostesses were very accommodating and sweet. We were setup with 2 waitresses and all needed separate checks. They acted like it was no problem at all! Our waitress was Claire, she was super fast, sweet, helpful and just absolutely wonderful! Even our kids commented on what a great waitress she was. The food was ok, not bad, not over the top amazing, but priced well and the beer was excellent! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!!!Thank you for the excellent review! Weâre glad you enjoyed your visit!

This place has some surprisingly great food! I was figuring about on par with every other chain, but this is a step above. The nachos are awesome! They use beef not chili and melt shredded cheese on the top in the oven. The salsa was just ok, but my wife likes the sour cream due to some kind of chipotle mixed in. The fajitas are really good! The steak and chicken were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We were to full to even try the shrimp. We got a burger also which I would say was average. The service could really use some work. Very slow and inattentive. Wasnât a big deal for us, but there were quite a few requests that were forgotten such as toppings, drink refills and sauces. Nothing that would keep us from going again, it was still really good.Thank you for acknowledging the efforts of the staff to rise above the average in most cases. I am sorry you found my service to be slow and not attentive. I will consult with the management and take appropriate corrective action. Thanks for your inputBob Smith owner

Thank you once again Trip Adviser reviewers for pointing us in the right direction. Valcour Brewery is a yummy place to stop for a beer and a burger. Behold, the Wilbur. A burger with pulled pork, onion rings, and cheese curd. Total yumminess. Combine this with a perfect pint of your favorite beer and great service and what more can you ask for?

The Butcher Block restaurant in Plattsburgh, NY is family owned and specializes in steak and seafood, but offers a wide variety of delicious options.
This is an informal type place with an extensive menu, competent waitstaff and lots to eat. Skip breakfast and lunch before going here for dinner. Thereâs a well stocked salad bar, a soup tureen, good drink selection and huge, well prepared entrees. We were too full to sample the deserts. High on the list of places to go when in the area.

Went to Uno yesterday during a baseball tournament. The service was quick and excellent. The food was too. For some strange reason, the customer still seems to count here! Special thanks to Sean, but the entire team was A1.
