The Flora-Bama Ole River Bar is a bar & grill located on Ole River and across the street from the world famous Flora-Bama.
We started our visit here off on a rough foot. There were 13 of us, 4 adults and 9 kids ages 7-16. When we went to check-in, it took much longer than the lunch crowd seemed to warrant for someone to come and help us. (There was a group of adults who ended up just walking in and sitting down on the porch in front of us and didn't wait to be seated.) We were told it would be a while before they could seat us at all, even split up, even though we could see multiple tables open, and even though we repeatedly said we could split into multiple tables again. It really felt like they didn't *want* to seat us, which was super odd. We ended up going downstairs and seating ourselves. While the service was likely slower there, there was plenty of space. Onto the food, the drinks we ordered were good. I really enjoyed the strawberry daiquiri. The food portions, however, were pretty stingy. Not a single person had left-overs, and a few of us actually left hungry (I had a steak salad which was super tasty, but stingy on the lettuce. The lettuce is the cheap part! Throw some extra in!) It ended up costing us quite a bit more than when we ate at a fancier place a few days later due to the portion sizes. (My husband's chicken sandwich on toast with fries was $16.)Overall, we had a good time. Everyone's food tasted good. The kids were happy we went. The ambiance was cool. But, don't expect to have leftovers or to be able to share a meal.We very much appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your recent visit. Please know that your comments have been passed to upper management for further review and action. On behalf of Ole River Grill, I want to sincerely apologize for the the experience you all had. I'm not in the business of making excuses so I won't take up your time with that as it seems you may have caught us at a "not our best" moment. Can you tell me if a manager ever came to check on ya'll, or were you able to speak to a manager while there? Again, I extend our sincerest apologies for this occurrence, and we'd love to have you back in effort to make things right. Please feel free to email any additional info/comments to me at [email protected].

Found this place on Trip Advisor. Said it was for mostly locals and had been here for years. Saw they had music , saw where Bluegrass Band played here regularly. Called to get more info and was told they would have two bands- one inside - one outside. Checked out menu online and liked what I saw , so we made plans to go. This is an older place and itâs a little dated - but it makes up for it in the food, wait staff and music. Everyone was happy with their meals and service- we had 9 people in our party. We stayed to listen to Bluegrass band and a trio of guys on outside courtyard - they were both great! Need a few more chairs and tables but if you want a place while in Perdido Key with great food, service and music this is the place! No gimmick tourist trap like Shrimp Basket! We will definitely go back- i want to try the fried mullet!

The ambiance is very nice but the food is not. Might consider having a drink there but the presentation is lacking and the taste uninspiring so don't order any food. It was a waste of money. Starting with the salad, which was obviously premade, had chunks of core in it. The "homemade" dressing tasted like diluted mustard so I didn't use it. The Seafood Platter was boiled not broiled which made the contents chewy, yuck! Here for our 43rd anniversary, what a disappointing experience. Don't waste your money, walk on the pier for free, look at the boats and water, then eat anywhere else but Perdido Key Oyster Bar Restaraunt.

Went for lunch but obviously itâs a good spot for sunsets. Go past the marina, itâs at the end. Food was ok, service was good. Dogs are welcome in the deck and you can come by boat too. Found on the "lost island" of Perdido Key, Florida, The Crab Trap, Perdido is a funky, fun, fishhouse on the Gulf of Mexico. With a boardwalk leading directly down to the sparkling white sand and crystal clear water, The Crab Trap is a great spot for a ca
Lunch menu (which does not appear to change) had mahi mahi on it--that was our choice. We had it grilled and it was quite good. Choice of 2 sides is also a nice feature. We decided on new potatoes (hard to mess these up) and one of the veggie choices for the day--black eye peas--which were great! Also came with 2 hush puppies that are very crispy on the outside and very light on the inside.Delightful lunch. Not crowded at all. Good service.

We loved everything about this place! We sat outside, and even though it was hot and is off the main road, it was still breezy and laid back. Our service was quick and friendly. Drinks were good (though somewhat pricey), and the food was amazing - we have 5 in our party - had burgers and mahi tacos - all were amazing! Highly recommend this jewel

The Flora-Bama Yacht Club is an open air waterfront restaurant on Ole River. It is across the street from the world famous Flora-Bama Lounge & Package Store, which is located on the Alabama-Florida state line where Orange Beach, Alabama meets Perdido Key,
It saddens and frustrates me that I cannot give the Flora-Bama Yacht club a better rating. We have been eating here for years. The DESIGN of their dishes is very good, but the current execution of those dishes is sadly lacking. Iâll point out two examples from my meal tonight, the char-broiled oysters and the blackened triple tail fish dinner. The oysters have great flavor, but the cooked shells were stacked on a small platter, resulting in the grit from the one above contaminating the ones below. Do you like gritty oysters? The triple tail fish is a wonderful sweet fish and they do a good job cooking it at the FB Yacht club. Unfortunately, the sides on the plate are not up to par. When I first had this dish years ago, the dirty rice and grilled vegetables tasted freshly prepared. The individual grains of rice were discernible, there were tiny shrimp and other extra ingredients. Tonight, the dirty rice was almost a âmashâ rather than a rice dish and looked like it had been in a warming pot much of the day if not longer. I did spot one shrimp between the blobs on our two plates. The grilled vegetables of old are now âsteamedâ. No seasoning and absolutely no flavor. The Cajun toping has likewise lost its original luster. So, was this a good meal? Yes, some of it was tasty. Was it better than one of the local family buffet restaurants? Only for a couple of the items. Another indication of the current execution is the fact that my glass of wine came in a 12-ounce plastic cup.My impression is that the original menu and food delivery was established by an experienced chef. That person must have subsequently departed and a âcookâ was hired to prepare the menu using the same recipes. My meal years ago was worth the well over $100 tab for two, but tonight, not so much.Hi there, My apologies for the delayed response. We very much appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your recent visit. Please know that your comments have been passed to upper management for further review and action. On behalf of the Yacht Club, I want to sincerely apologize for the experience you all had. Can you tell me if a manager ever came to check on ya'll, or were you able to speak to a manager while there? Any additional info is helpful so that we may address this with the appropriate staff. Again, I extend our sincerest apologies for this occurrence, and I'd love to offer you a gift card to be used on your next visit if that's of any interest to you. We ave been to Perdido Key many times and have never visited Hub Stacy's at the Point. We visited on our recent trip and we will definitely be back. The atmosphere, food, and service were all exceptional. This is a wonderful location for either lunch or dinner if you enjoy a relaxed environment with great food and service.
