Reviews on Bar food in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, United States. Located on South Carolina's beautiful Grand Strand, Pawley's Island is the laid back alternative to the Myrtle Beach vacation. Shopping, dining, or golfing is all within reach. Just south of Myrtle Beach, Pawley's Island is best known for the Hammock Shops, a unique shopping experience of quaint small shops nestled under trees full of Spanish Moss. You can find everything from shoes to local artwork, or you might choose to go golfing on one of the many world-class golf courses in the area. While Pawley's is quieter and more relaxed than nearby Myrtle Beach, the latter's close proximity provides infinite possibilities for dining and nightlife. Murrell's Inlet, a quaint fishing village, and its bevy of seafood restaurants is just up the road and also has a Salt Marsh Preserve. Simple but delicious hamburgers at the River City cafe or finer dining at one of the hundreds of other restaurants are all within short driving distance. After dinner you might seek out one of the many venues for arts and entertainment. The Carolina Opry is well known for its amazing shows. You can see a live show or dance the night away…or both! Enjoying the beach is the obvious activity but there is so much more to do than just that. Parasailing is a popular option, as is a visit to the Huntington State Park to explore the local flora and fauna. The park has many programs to entertain and enlighten both the young and old. On the grounds is Atalaya, the home of the artist Anna Hyatt Huntington. Just across the street is Brookgreen Gardens which features many of the sculptures of the artist as well as the lovely manicured gardens.

The chef/owner knows good southern food. The oysters were not overdone or heavily breaded. The collards were perfection. Our waitress, Christina, was great, too!

Weâre staying at the Oceanfront Litchfield Inn (separate review) and figured this would be quick and easy after a day at the beach. Wrong. Service was unfriendly. Service was extremely slow as it took over 50 mins from the time we ordered until we got our food. It was later in the evening and it wasnât full. Food was grossly overpriced. Avoid the grouper basket. $20 for 3 tiny pieces of fish and some fries. $50 for two adults and toddler with no drinks. If you are in a pinch for time or feel like being lazy and donât mind over paying than have at it. Otherwise, avoid.

My favorite eatery for consistency became J Peters located just across the highway from Litchfield Resort. I savored the specials from four to six, the excellent food and staff. So, when I discovered that the favorite of many of us had suddenly closed, I worried my go to eatery had disappeared. Yes, I knew there was another location in Pawley's but I was spoiled. Heck, on a good walk, I didn't;t even have to drive. So it was, with a bi of hesitation, that my adult daughter and I trekked to the Pawley's location. Upon entering, we learned that many others were taken back at the abrupt closing. But, alas, we learned many of the workers had relocated to this location. We ordered our usual and thankfully, portions and taste are very close to the closed location. Although a few miles further, we will adopt this as our new favorite place to eat. Good food, good service, and good prices. Nothing else is needed.

We were visiting friends in Pawleys Island and we decided to go to the PIT as it's called for dinner. Doesnt look like much, but the food and the service was awesome. My granddaughter had a huge cheeseburger with bacon and it looked delicious and she said it was. I had the fried shrimp basket. Shrimp were excellent with nice seasoning and fries and coleslaw. 2 others had the scallop basket and they also said delicious. One other had the fried grouper and he also said it was excellent. A great find.

Not sure what happened this time around but found the quality of the food to be disappointing this go round. Soup was barely luke warm, fries were cold and the fish was kind of limp and sad. Not sure I will go back next time I am down.We are sorry to hear about your poor experience with us. However, we are grateful for your feedback and will use it to become the best restaurant we can be. We hope you will consider visiting with us again soon!

We live in the heart of BBQ country (Lexington NC). But I was impressed by the Que at Moes. Also have some other nice smoked meats, including ribs. The sides are really good. I like that it's a walk up, order, and pay place. I hate to have a service fot BBQ.

With the closing of the local J Peter's restaurant, it became necessary to search for a new close local spot for a meal. After viewing several eateries, my adult daughter and I decided to have dinner on a weeknight at the local Quigley's. Upon arriving, we found the restaurant to be inviting and obviously quite popular based on the amount of people in attendance. However, there was no wait time as we were quickly seated. After ordering, the waiter brought a selection of three biscuits with a cheesy spread we could apply. Not quite sure why two people however receive three biscuits. They were tasty and I would have loved two for each of us. My daughter ordered a veggie burger and French fries. I ordered a hamburger, omitting the cheese as I felt fifty cents for one slice of cheese was a bit much, my side was macaroni salad. The sandwiches were tasty, but not outstanding. Fries were typical fries' my Marconi salad was mostly mayonnaise, not much taste. We both selected water. Total cost was around 21.50, about average for a meal. The atmosphere was lively but the restaurant is average with reasonable prices.

This place was just all around an awesome experience. Itâs situated back in the Hammock Shops center. The trees, flowers and foliage were just beautiful to stroll through on the walkways. It was a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a delicious lunch. My chicken biscuit was so good, perfect. The coleslaw was unique to me. Iâve never seen raw okra in it before, but it added a subtle flavor that was truly good. My daughter paid with her OSU Buckeyes card and we had a friendly rivalry conversation with the waitress. It was all good times and good food.

Super popular restaurant in Pawleys. It is casual. Wait staff good. Barteneder was helpful and portions generous. My wife and I enjoyed it but wonder if there are better lunch spots in Pawleys? Menu fine but leans to the fattening/tasty/friend side. Prices fair. I wish they had better craft beer and higher end wines and more fish and seafood dishes that are not fried (they do have some). Wish there were some dishes that were a bit healthier. All that said, you will like your meal
