Nice restaurant with pool, jacuzzi and internacional food
Our group made reservations for a private dinner, and we were treated to a first-rate afternoon/evening by Sophia and her staff. We lounged at the pool/swim-up bar enjoying drinks and appetizers until it was time for our dinner reservation. We enjoyed an excellent meal with stunning views of the lake at sunset. Sophia was extremely attentive and personally saw to it that we were well taken care of.

The Sunset Cafe is one of the most popular restaurants in Panajachel at the end of the main street over looking Lake Atitlan. It is perhaps the most well known restaurant in the town and I'm surprised it isn't on TA.
As a Resturanteur of 25 years ,my first impression was like everyone else. The View. A million dollar view in a beautiful setting with little else to offer. This place should be packed on a regular basis. I rarely say bad things about any place. It seemed like such a waste of potential. I hope the owners find someone to kickstart this Gem. Food so-so . Service ,not inviting. Bad need of Hospitality lessons.

Gringos Locos is a locally-owned bar, located in one of Lake Atitlan's more formidable tourist traps, and our name pretends to capture our mixed feelings about the multi-cultural aspect of our niche here in Pana. Cassidy's bartending expertise is unparall
I met the owner of Gringos Locos while wandering aimlessly through Panajachel the other day. This is a genuinely friendly establishment where you can have a good time, meet people, and pick up some nice travel tips. As a plus, they're on great terms with the rest of Panajachel so you can easily be connected with exactly what you need.

In Spanish, the name is Porche de Salomon. Its off the road a bit inside a small commercial area called El Dorado, near the main bus stop in Panajachel.
Good place to spend some money because of the support Solomn's porch gives to those without homes in Guatemala. The food is ok and is not gluten free friendly. The margaritas are delicious. This is a small place, groups larger than 8 may have trouble finding a good seat. This is a popular place for people living in th area.

Had a good night out at Pana Rock as we enjoyed the live music and happy hour drinks. Ended up having breakfast here the day after (needed quick wifi) and that was rather disappointing. Took a long time and food itself was only so so. Conclusion; great for a night out but eat somewhere else.

La Palapa is a thatched roof bar in the center of Panajachel nightlife. Popular with gringos during the day, night time activities attract travelers and locals looking for fun. Monday is game night, Tuesday karaoke, Wednesday open mic, Thursday trivia com
La Palapa is a favorite of locals, ex-pats, and tourists, with a typical bar menu - burgers (great!) & fries, sandwiches, nachos, really good chili, etc. Full bar. Known for their Saturday afternoon barbecue with grilled fish, great cuts of meat, and Portobello mushrooms available, as well as excellent sides. Live music on weekends. Friendly staff. Thanks for your kind comments.

Can't go wrong with the pizza here. A large variety of pizzas and drinks fill the menu and there are some vegetarian or vegan options. We were a party of 12 and arrived at a good time because shortly after we were seated, it quickly became standing room only for a table. There's no A/C or ventilation so go early or in the evening when it is cooler. Do not order the soup though. Two adults in our party ordered the same soup and both had the same reaction-bland and without substance. It was basically bullion with a few noodles and a chicken taste. We informed the owner and she apologized and brought a jar of dehydrated tomatoes for the road since we had already paid. Beer was nice and cold and service was sufficient. thanks a lot for your positive comment! sorry that the soup was not to your liking, it is made from scratch, bones and beef meat broth, no chicken involved and no MSG, little salt. hope you enjoyed the tomatoes! best regards
