This is a nice outdoor patio bar and restaurant. The food is simple and what you would expect to pay for an over the water/pier restaurant. Prices for fish or chicken ranged from $12-18. Burgers we a bit less and steaks and shrimp were a bit more. The staff was polite and helpful. There was a good menu. In rainy or colder weather there is a nice indoor seating and eating area. While we were there the inside was âjammin-nightâ with musicians using he stage and so conversation would have been minimal inside. We ate outdoors and it was great.

The view from the outside bar and deck area was perfect for a summer day. There were sunny spots but most was covered so you can sit in the shade. The server was very attentive and kept my water glass filled. (That matters a lot to me...) I had the hamburger and it was large in size and perfectly grilled. My friend enjoyed the chicken wrap and we shared the onion rings- definitely a guilty pleasure. Note that there is an up charge for onion rings.

This place was TERRIBLE. We were there on 5/2/10. There were 6 in our party. We ordered dinners of crab cakes, grilled chicken, bbq shrimp, a seafood platter, and crab balls/shrimp. The crab cakes were dry and had too much filling. The grilled chicken
Many people don't realize that at one time Southern Maryland had more slot machines second only to Las Vegas. Now the Md legislature has only grandfathered in less than seven of these Md institutions-as t approved the six full scale Md casinos. I have been a crabhead for more than a three decades. Abners has gone from a small room with a bar in front of the giant mural, with games scattered about, and a gravel parking lot-to its current snazzy incarnation. While current overall design leaves a little to be desired, at its heart is an old fashioned seafood house and slot parlor. Imagine you grandparents trying to design their dream home, on a budget, with Bubba down the street. If you have ever been to the Wynn or Encore in LV, know that Steve Wynn began in a bingo hall in Waysons Corners. So Abners is part of that tradition.Yes the family has richly enjoyed the fruits of its spoils - split time between here and Florida, has others running the day to day while they count the coin, service is unpredictable, staffing is uneven, but the crabs are local, consistent and at a reasobable price. While Traders and Rod and Reel have more traditional restaurants-slightly higher prices, (and gaming) Abners has the better seafood at a reasonable price. They do employ a lot of locals and extended family management so things can be a little uneven. But that's part of the fun. Crabs caught same day!And given the return on gaming revenues of more than $25 m per year for the current Chesaepeake gaming parlors combined, it's no wonder that staff emphasis on gaming is apparent, but the food is great. They bring in a couple hundred per machine daily on avg. They still run great happy hour food and drink specials. So if you want to gamble, I personally have won more here than at R&R or Traders second only to defunct Crooked Eye- I am an old timer- it's here. But if you want very very good seafood at a reasonable price you can't beat Abners in Chesaepeake Beach. Don't be run off by the nay Sayers. Not perfect, but good parking and lots of fun, give them a try.Take from one who has been a patron since 2002.

I attended a retirement party and the food was excellent. However, the service was poor. The staff was friendly but had trouble with the most basic norms of food service. For example, everyone likes a glass of water and bread baskets should automatically be on the table. I had to ask for water and never had the option of getting it refilled. The bar bill was a problem. If everyone at the table is attending a retirement you need to provide separate bar checks. Instead one check was brought for our entire table of 8 for the drinks. Some friends said the tab was wrong and some drinks were charged twice. Instead of getting management the server told my friend she had to just pay for it. Working with the staff to set up for a party and have most basic items in place ahead of time would make all the difference.

Motherâs Day was very busy had a thirty minute wait for our party of 13 which was understandable. Our server Karen made our wait worth while. She was on the ball. Our drinks were never empty, all our orders were correct and hot. She was kind and very patient with our elderly parents and small children. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food. We will be back.

We had a large group and always rely on Ketch to have great menu selections for when we want to get together with friends and family. The atmosphere is inviting and we never feel rushed. I have to give a shout out to Bobby because he was so upbeat, was constantly available and did a great job communicating throughout the meal.

Family of 4 adultsSeated on the porch because the dining room was too loud.Meals were satisfactory with exception that a side dish, asparagus, could not be eaten. Looked like skinny green beans...ugh. Shrimp and grits:fair But, here the biggest CON of the evening: sitting at a corner table on porch when a large truck pulls up along side where we were sitting, offloaded a huge hose and proceeded to remove the greases from the fat vat or whatever they call it, from back of restaurant. It was disgusting! Not only a racket but smells were nauseating, causing a family to go inside til they finished. What about the timing of that on a Tuesday night? And, no response about it from staff, a manager and perhaps what I thought was an owner who were on the porch. That night was a busy one with a few tables celebrating birthdays. We enjoy the festive atmosphere of celebration, however, at times it can be loud. We use fresh asparagus and apologize that yours was not satisfactory. I am said owner, that you reference above. And I thought I had talked to everyone that night - not sure how I missed you. I even sat down with a table and she exchanged information on other companies I could use. We do not get guaranteed time slots for grease trap cleaning. You call the company and they come out three days later - you can request a time, but you did not get to choose it. Usually they are able to go through the backyard, but a concrete pad was being installed and the truck was unable to go that way. The company was professional and performed their job as quickly as possible. I did call company and voice complaint on timing of removal. I apologize that this event led to your disappointment. - Monica

Neptune's Seafood Pub serves fresh and delicious dishes that include seafood, steak and vegetarian options. Dinner is served Monday through Thursday from 11 am - 10 pm; Friday and Saturday from 11 am - 11 pm and Sunday from 11 am - 9 pm.
Neptunes is a neighborhood pub with good food. Been going there for many, many years. If you like land or sea there are many options. We generally start with a couple pounds of mussels and garlic bread. Some crab queso and/or tuna bites.Anything ordered after that will be for a take home box cause you will be full.Plus afterwards you can have a nice walk down the boardwalk only one block to the water (Chesapeake Bay). This is a reccomend in my book...Word of caution, go early or go late. At dinnertime there is usually a wait for seating as Neptunes is small and popular with the locals.
