We enjoyed sitting out on their patio area a couple weeks ago. I cannot remember the name of our waitress, but she had long strawberry blonde hair and she was fantastic. Very nice and attentive without being pushy. As we were meeting family that I hadn't seen in 15 years, we wanted to take our time. We all enjoyed a couple of their beers. I wasn't too hungry, so had their spinach salad. It was a nice balance of spinach, pickled onions, sugary pecans and bacon. I would go back. They had trivia that night which seemed quite popular.

Great local beers on tap and good selection of health conscious food.
We were so pleased to have found this place in Black Mountain. We ordered onion rings, the blackened tuna filet sandwich, and the Columbia Knob (a grilled chicken sandwich with pineapple). The french fries that came with the tuna filet were great; my husband got a side salad with his chicken sandwich. Our waiter Brad couldn't have been nicer or more efficient, and we were allowed to have our beagle on the outdoor seating deck. Of course, your dog has to be small enough to lift over the railing, because the only walking access is through the restaurant. It worked out great for us.

What I like about White Horse/Black Mountain: the sofas and loveseats in the furthest row, the nice 'cafe style' seating with tables, the wonderful performances and great location in Black Mountain. What I didn't like about it -- on a July evening it was HOT. They did have the big "barn" doors open until the performance started (when they closed them) and they did have large fans blowing -- but even so, sweat started pouring down our faces at about the half hour mark.
