The last of the five villages along the Cinque Terre strip, Monterosso al Mare is the most visited, largely because it has the only sizable sand beach and the biggest hotels. Though it can get very crowded with tourists during the peak summer months, Monterosso is still delightful. The old town area, separated from the more modern resort area by the Aurora tower, is home to the ruins of a medieval castle and San Francesco church, which houses an important Van Dyck painting of the crucifixion.

The food and drinks here are so good, the service level is at its highest and the view from the restaurant is nothing less than stunning. It is a place where you must stop by to enjoy some really good pizzas and pastas and enjoy the panoramic view of the beach. Even though it is a really small restaurant, it is extremely cosy with a good exposure to the sunlight. Love it to the core and would not be hesitant to do it again.

I ate here twice when in Monterosso. Beachside tables, good views and watch the crowds pass by. One night had pasta and salad, the next great seafood dish. Itâs casual, relaxed and affordable dining with lots of good options. Very friendly customer service.

We visited Ananasso Bar for lunch and a few drinks today. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a pesto & tomato bruschetta (â¬5â¬) which was tasty and a good size. My wife ordered the pesto pinsa, sort of a cross between a focaccia and a pizza (â¬12). Again it was very tasty and probably for sharing really. There was quite a lot of oil from the pesto but it tasted very nice. Our drinks were nice. Prices were reasonable and there was no cover charge. Overall, a great place to people watch with a lovely view of the harbour in Vernazza. Thank you again and back to visit us

A really incredible view along the seaside. We enjoyed a great table and a couple of excellent sandwiches after a morning of hiking. However our server clearly seemed inconvenienced by having to take our order and totally forgot my beer. Since she never came back to check on us, I finally found another waitress to bring it. Too bad the service canât match the food and view.

We enjoyed a light lunch of salads one day and the next we just enjoyed cocktails. The location is perfect being right on the beach. Our salads were fresh and the wine was very reasonable. The only downfall is that it isnât open in the evenings. However, it is a great place to sit during the day and pinch yourself that you are sitting at one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy!

The perfect light lunch at our hike from Monterosso- Florence- the owner - so warm and friendly. Her family surrounds her with older grandchildren helping bus tables etc. Salad was delicious with a light honey dressing. We licked the plate clean:) the outdoor seating was lovely with a nice breeze and ocean view- no credit cards

We found this restaurant by following the main thoroughfare to the Corniglia viewpoint, and their outdoor seating is the southern part of the viewpoint terrace. You actually pass by the door on your way to the viewpoint. We got to the viewpoint and saw folks enjoying good looking food, and sat down. The service was great, and the food was as well. The view here is spectacular, if I had any complaints it would be the number of tourists flowing past at midday to enjoy the view making this spot a little less tranquil.

We sat at an outside table on a hot day enjoying a glass of wine. Quite reasonably priced and bought by the carafe. Good place to people watch as everyone passes here en route to/from the Old Town.

This is a great bar, serving a good selection of drinks including cocktails.. A good selection of snacks are also brought to the table while drinking here, They also serve good bar food and some amazing salads.. This bar is open all day until late and is a great place to spend the evening with friends or as a couple.. They also show live sports on the TV..

Sitting high above the waterfront, this restaurant is the ideal location for a romantic dinner. The pastas dishes are innovative and very flavourful, and the lamb was unexpectedly amazing. My only knock on the restaurant is that the service, though very efficient, was not particularly friendly.
