We attended this Bistro yesterday for a wake. The venue is nice and clean but food never again. Firstly I would like to say I know the kitchen was under pressure because there was a few people but no excuse for a half hearted effort in plating up. My husband and I ordered 350g rump steak and I ordered special of day a chicken bacon mushroom dish with mashed potatoes etc. My husbands steak was very small I think he got someone elses steak. My meal didnt come out until last and my chicken tasted boiled and with 1 tablespoon of gravy. The stuffing was yuk and others who got this dish had a little salad I got nothing. I asked about it 3 times and everyone had eaten their meals by the time I got mine. Everyone who got this dish left half like I did, not nice. Also the step in the dining room is deadly! We saw the people fall down off the step including someone with a pram.

The Stirling Arms Hotel is Guildford's local gem offering a lounge bar, restaurant, dog-friendly beer garden, accommodation and drive-thru Thirsty Camel bottle shop.
Itâs been a while between visits and I was pleasantly surprised by the face lift this old local has received - car park still a holey mess! We may not have picked the best night, an event was on in the restaurant area so we sat in the bar very loud as all hard surfaces and seemed to be the only place you could get any food or drink on the night and it appeared the event was a huge success but the service not so. The line to order was constant for about 2 hours, there was no chance of grabbing a quick drink while deciding on your food. When the line finally reduced we jumped in only to wait 20mins with only two people serving and also taking food orders. Why the restaurant bar was not open I donât know but if this is the way the place is going with more events then more staff is necessary. We finally ordered I got the parmi and it came out surprisingly quickly and was delicious! Food was great, drinks reasonable AND in the entertainment book. Was a great night out with some friends. Thanks Joslin C for the recent visit and comments. We did have Proud Mary on the evening that you attended by the looks of things. We are sorry that there was a short period of delay as the venue filled up and our team worked very hard to serve as quickly as they possible could. We have made changes to our staffing levels for future peak periods and events so we are sure that you will not be delayed next time. Doors open at specific times but we going to move this forward for future events so that we can handle the masses in a fast manner. We hope to see you again soon.

Its also a function centre
Glad we booked because this place is packed . This night a wedding was on in the back area . There was a little wait for drinks but not to bad . Managed to get a table inside being a cool night . Even being busy food did come out quite quickly . Started with sweet corn fritters and Pork, veal and parmesan meatballs in mushroom sauce while our pizzas were getting cooked . Great flavors in the meatball dish . Pizzas where The Anticrust and Three little pigs. Cooked perfectly and went down a treat . Left just enough room for a shared desert. Orieo cheese cake which was a Bit different but ok . Staff very friendly even so the seemed a Bit rushed this night . Will be coming back during the week for pizza and pint night .
Thought we would give the new place in Midland a go, support local, well what a mistake, food was absolutely awful I have had better in a roadhouse in the middle of nowhere.Ordered some onion rings for starters - greasy overcooked and over prices - yuchI ordered a $30 prime rib - mediium rare - sure I got a minute steak! - way overcooked - sent it back and on the return it was undercooked and fatty, the baked potato - if you could call it that was smeared with what looked like a finger swipe of sour cream - a joke!My daughter ordered Ribs - their speciality - groan - dried out so much the bones were dryHubby had Chicken Parmi- dry dry dryspent almost $150.00 - complained when we left but got a dazed "Oh I am sorry you didn't enjoy your meal" and a $3 discountwont ever bother going back to that one and advise you the same

Went to the Principal for lunch with my two mid twenties children and my wife, I ordered the chicken wings in chilli chipotle sauce.....completely inedible....the cook,( because I refuse to call them a chef !! ) doesn't know what chipotle sauce is. I was able to eat only a quarter of a chicken wing, as the wings were dipped in pure ghost chilli sauce. My son tried one, ate a quarter and declared them as "s##t , you can't even taste the chicken" . Now i'm no pussy when it comes to hot food, I can eat a Vindaloo and a Phal , two of the hottest curries, they will make your eyelids sweat. I've had Chilli and Chipotle in just about every state in America.....All hot and flavoursome, I grow chillies from the humble Jalapeno to the Louisiana Ghost chillie's, I love hot food, but either the cook has a warped sense of humour or they don't know what Chipotle is....completely inedible. So thanks for ripping me off $22 bucks !!!! and the manager should really know what is coming out of his kitchen because it makes him look amateurish if he doesn't. The menu should have read chicken wings dipped in ghost chilli sauce, but then who would buy them, I sure wouldn't. The other three meals my family members had were rate by them as "ok". So its your choice but you may not get what's advertised.

We experienced the Grand Central for lunch today. Sadly, the only good thing we had was the garlic bread. Service was attentive and friendly. Generous services of Sparkling wine, delicious garlic bread and good coffee. The rump steak was really tough (inedible) but served with a well dressed salad and good mushroom sauce. The Thai Beef salad wasn't Thai at all. It was steak sliced over salad (which was dressed with normal salad dressing) with crunchy noodles on top and what tasted like bottle hoi sin sauce over the beef. No sign of fish sauce, lime juice, or chilli. Definitely not remotely like a Thai beef salad. Maybe should be called Beef and Salad with crunchy noodles. Disappointing, as we had heard good reviews. Won't be back. Hard to rate value, as the menu is really reasonably priced, but if you don't like the food, then it's not good value regardless of the price.

Saturday lunch outside in restaurant area. Lovely surrounds and restaurant was very busy. A table of four, we all ordered something different from the menu, which was varied and reasonably priced. Chef was happy to grill the fish rather than my friend having to have it battered and fried. All meals were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were polite and friendly and knowledgeable, though too few of them, thus, the service was very very slow. It was extremely difficult to get their attention and I had to go inside to the counter to request service as we were wanting drinks and desserts. Such a great venue, ......staff shortage the only thing lacking.

Has a lot of charm about it, and certainly has a lot of character as well. Service was okay, but the beer selection was good. A little crowded, but still quite charming.

My wife and I went to the 7th Avenue for dinner. No reservation but there was plenty of spare tables. Waiting at the âplease wait here for serviceâ sign at the restaurant. The waitress asked if we had a reservation to which we replied no, I asked for a table for 2 and was directed to sit outside of the designated restaurant area at tables set up for 2. These tables had no table clothes and are not very welcoming. I asked again to sit at the tables with table clothes in the restaurant area and was told we couldnât as the tables are set up for 4. I again asked for a table for 2 and was refused being told âthey are for 4â I said that if we were refused a table in the restaurant for 2 we would find another restaurant and wouldnât be back. The waitress just shrugged her shoulders and said âokâ.Over the years we have been to the 7th Avenue many times for dinner, lunch or just for a beer ad a couple and in groups. With that service we wonât be back again. The worst customer service we have ever experienced in a restaurant..... goodbye 7th Avenue......
