Unprentious, proper friendly pub. Lovely views from beer garden. Campervans made welcome. Staff , locals and visitors fun and friendly. Kids and dogs welcome off lead in huge beer garden. Great choice of ciders and beers. Average pub grub., at average prices. Above average atmosphere and welcome. Well worth a visit. Great landlord. Loads of places to visit near bye.

Having eaten here at various times ,we particularly enjoyed the breakfast they gave us in August 2017. We tried this morning to repeat the pleasurable experience, to find the doors locked and no breakfasts to be had .This was very disappointing as the sign outside stated it was 'open' .I hope that the proprietors will offer breakfasts again as it was the best to be had ,in town .

Country pub and restaurant with campsite near the forest of dean and wye valley in Gloucestershire. If you like the coutryside and you like staying at a country pub this is the place for you.
When my parents moved to this area over 30 years ago we would often visit this pub. So it was quite nostalgic to go there again while visiting my Father for the weekend.Oh dear the decor has change little in all that time and could do with a good clean and for seating to be replaced. Our table was sticking were it was obviously not cleaned properly and everything was very old and dated especially the awful out of tune background music/radio. I would rather there was nothing than that awful noise. We ordered our meals and it was average, nothing special. Would not recommend or be going back anytime soon. The landlady needs to learn some manners or made that is why the pub was empty.Very sorry you could find nothing at all to like about us, suggest readers look at other reviews to find a more balanced opinion.

Good pub food, in middle of forest. Very friendly service and lovely setting. Open from midday and food is served throughout the day until 9.00Pm
Popped in for lunch and we were not disappointed. Lovely meal and such good value. Shame we didnât have room for dessert as they sounded delicious. Had our dog with us and he was made very welcome and had the benefit of a fantastic walk seconds away from the front door in the forest. We will definitely return, thanks.

We received a warm welcome and enjoyed a nice meal, very fairly priced. Very well cooked, even my peas were delicious. A good range of beers and wines. A bar area with TV which is separate from dining area. More space than is immediately visible. Well worth dropping in, whether for a quick lunch or three course meal.Thankyou for your kind review we look forward to meeting you again.Kind regardsIan & carole

We were in Yorkley on holiday last weekend and my uncle booked Sunday lunch at the Nags Head. As we were a large group, we had the whole upstairs room to ourselves. We all day on a long banqueting style table. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced. We ordered our choice of meat when booking the table. The food all arrived quickly and everyone was served promptly by the two waitresses. One of the best Sunday lunches I've had and everyone on the table enjoyed. The waitress read out the dessert menu after they had cleared all the plates away. There must have been around 20 different desserts on this menu and you could choose between cream, custard and ice cream to accompany them. Most of us ordered different desserts and the waitresses still managed to serve us all in what seemed a matter of minutes. Highly recommend this pub and we will be booking a table here again next year for another family celebration.

A welcoming and friendly local pub in a picturesque corner of the Forest of Dean. Visit us for hearty dinners, lunches and snacks and an excellent selection of beers, ciders and wines. We are located just off the A46, next to the Castle in St Briavels, a
very nice location-just stopped off for a drink- type of village pub we like-sat in the garden quite and peaceful- drinks reasonably priced- had a wander to the church and castle.

The Miner's Arms is a family run free house pub and restaurant now under new ownership. The Miner's Arms is a popular, locally supported pub as well as being a destination venue for diners and live music lovers. It is host to Jazz and other music nights.
We visited the Miners Arm on holiday . They had a fantastic range of beer and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They have got a great value menu for kids and were really flexible to adapt the menu too. We went on curry night, and they offered a great deal on a curry and beer (£10!) The curries were a bit tame and it would be good to see some spicy ones on offer. They did a fantastic burgers too . If your staying at the nearby Whitemead Forest Park you can walk through the Forest to the pub. Perfect excuse to leave the car at home. Thank you for leaving such a positive review Joy, we're really pleased you enjoyed your visit. I've forwarded your helpful constructive comments about the curry to the kitchen team and provided them with some scotch bonnet chilli's so they'll make an appearance in one of the curry's on Wednesday this week. Hope you come back and see us next time you stay at Whitemead - as you say it's only a walk through the forest away.

In the centre of the Forest of Dean is Parkend which boasts the Woodman.Busy at weekends and with regular live music. We visited on a weekday lunchtime and weren't disappointed with the good food and ale.

This is a traditional pub/restaurant that offers b/b accomodation. It has a 45 seater restaurant and a beautiful.,spacious garden. It has been under the current ownership since March 2017 and is now a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.Live music
We came here for our final family holiday meal and certainly were not disappointed. The interior of the pub is well put together, the bathroom was modern and clean, the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was a bother. We had specific requirement for the meal as we had the dog with us and a 9 month old baby but the staff were very accommodating and had reserved an area for us without any fuss. The table had been decorated with flowers and the atmosphere felt homelyThe service was prompt, and there was plenty on the menu to tickle our tastebuds as well as the plentiful options in the specials menu as well. There wasnât a long wait for food and when came it was extremely mouthwatering and pleasant. The lamb chops certainly were a favourite for one member of the family. The portions were of good size however it depended on the chosen dish. A very enjoyable evening felt by all, would definitely if ever back in the area.Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a full and generous review. You really have made such complimentary comments about everything from start to finish which fills us with great pride and suggests we are maintaining the high standards we set ourselves. We really look forward to seeing you all again soon.
