My husband and I went on a Friday night and sat at the bar, the place was busy. Service was attentive and friendly. Ordered beer and wine, good menu for both. We started with crab cakes and then i had the fish and chips and my husband the pasta/gnocci with meatballs and garlic bread. Both meals were good. The portions for the fish and chips were good as well. We'd go back. Menu was big so there is something for everyone.

We were in town for a wedding. We really enjoy this place and ate here twice during our short visit. Great food, Great bartenders and Great food! PLEASE end the Trivia night on Wednesday....obnoxious. Speakers are loud, not many people playing and a true intrusion to a conversation with your spouse or whomever you are with.Dear maltesemama15,Thank you for taking the time to review us and for the 5 stars. We so appreciate your kind feedback about our cuisine and service! Guest feedback is so important as it helps us gain a better understanding of how we are doing. We usually visit the Townsend House on weekday evenings and receive great service and very good food. This time we tried a Saturday night, major mistake, it was extremely crowded which says a lot about the restaurant but doesn't improve the dining experience. Service was very slow which can be expected on a busy night but our server was having an especially bad night. Had to ask several times about our drink order and other tables were being seated after us but served before us. The waitress seemed totally at a loss. The fried food was over done as well, easy to do when the kitchen is overwhelmed. We will continue to go to the Townsend House because it's usually a great time, just not on a weekend

Frequent this restaurant quite often in both NY and in Fitchburg, MA. The quality, and service in both locations has always been excellent. You can get everything from appetizers to complete meals, and that includes children's menu items. My favorites are the New Orleans Shrimp, and Beef tips. Plan on bringing some home, the portions are quite large.Usually frequent this restaurant about 4 or 5 times a month. The menu choices are quite extensive.

My husband and I visited Massachusetts for a week long vacation. On our last night, we wanted someplace close to our lodging and someplace we could watch baseball. Legends answered both of those needs. When we pulled in the parking lot, i did not have high hopes for a great meal. It looked like a neighborhood sports bar. I need to say first and foremost, the ladies working at Legends are super friendly and hard working. The food was very good and the drinks were generous. I would recommend Legends to anyone, great food, nice atmosphere. Thank you for giving us the opportunity and for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Legends!

My wife and I stopped by for dinner. This was one of those places that you always say you should try out but just never do. Well, long story short, I wish we hadn't. I ordered crab cakes, the meal version with a baked potato and green beans. There is also an appetizer version. My wife ordered fish tacos. It took, what I thought was a long time for our dinner to arrive and when it did, what a disappointment it was. The crab cakes were burned on both sides and I mean charred black. The potato was over cooked, dried out and mealy. No butter but I did get a little container of sour cream. My wife said the fish taco was pretty good but not anything special. Despite Happy Jack's decent ratings it was a dud for me tonight. Maybe I'll go back and see if they can redeem themselves but probably won't...... too bad, I really wanted to like this place.

Recently saw a show here and had dinner before. The small prime rib was huge, accompanied with fresh green beans, a baked potato and a popover. There is also a nice selection of drinks and their bread pudding was scrumptious. Fun evening all around.

In July 2018, we visited this restaurant and had a very poor experience. After posting my review, management contacted me to invite me back and offered a $35 gift certificate. We returned last week and things were as bad or worse with the service. Once again it was five of us for lunch at noon on a Thursday. It was not especially crowded. After being seated, we were ignored for about ten minutes, until I finally got someone's attention. Our waitress offered apologies, and we gave a beverage order and asked that we receive a fifth table setting (there were only four). After a very long time, the drinks arrived but I had to ask again for the table setting. We placed our food order and, once again, had a very long wait. When the food arrived, again with apologies, my grandkids' pasta was lukewarm and my "steamed" broccoli was cold. A request for an additional beverage again took a long time. When the check arrived, I found that the waitress had given me someone else's paid check (with $25 cash included). I flagged down the waitress, who had recognized her error, and was given the correct check -- again, with many apologies. She also offered us $5 off coupons for a return visit. The waitress was wearing an apron that identified her as a "certified trainer." Sorry, clearly the management of this establishment doesn't know how to offer appropriate customer service and attention. With so many alternatives available, we won't be returning here. I'd recommend that you opt for a different spot as well.Hi, Al. We sincerely apologize that you did not receive the best service and that some items were not prepared correctly. Our general manager will be in touch via email as soon as possible.
