Returned again to Cobbles on a very busy and very warm Wednesday market day. Enjoyed lunches of lasagne, gammon and BBQ chicken. The portions are plentiful and the quality excellent. The service is friendly and efficient. We sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed our drinks of Thatchers Cider, white wine and fresh orange juice. The painted piano looks good so I played a few tunes before lunch. The place has recently been redecorated on the outside. It looks really good! It also had plenty of live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings!

Hidden behind a traditional, grey, unremarkable pub exterior, is a remarkable place with style in abundance. Chic surroundings, cool tunes and astounding food and drink, The Greyhound Inn breaks ranks with the traditions usually associated with Lincolnshi
It's not often one can give 5 stars to a pub but this one is splendid. I hadn't been in the Greyhound for 30 years but a visit to Louth had us trailing round on a Saturday evening looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't full and eventually we were recommended The Greyhound. Why it wasn't busy I don't know. It has been really wonderfully modernised, there is an excellent choice of drinks served by pleasant staff and the food is splendid. I had a rib eye done lovely and pink with a Provencal sauce with leaves and trimmings and proper twice cooked chips. My wife had tuna with chilli and said it was the best she had had for some time. Go sit in the bar, it's modern and comfortable and you won't be disappointed.

Living just a mile from this restaurant we have visited twice. The ambience is very traditional and welcoming, and on both occasions i found the majority of the staff friendly and efficient. There is a huge choice on the menu as well as specials at very reasonable prices. On our first visit, a Wednesday evening there was no issues and our party of 4 all enjoyed a good quality and tasty 3 course meal. Brilliant food and great service. No complaints! On the second occasion, Saturday evening, 2 of our party of 4 ordered the salmon to which both sent back due to sauce being cold. After being returned, one of them was still cold and was sent back. One of our party made a joke about putting it in the microwave, to which who i think was the manager came over and got quite irate about microwave usage in their restaurant. I felt we were being shouted at, and at that point, i did have the urge to pay and walk out.We never complain ever about food and put up with most things, however the dish in question was around £15 and we expected better. We were not prepared to accept the heat of the sauce and the get shouted at. Maybe we just interpreted the actions of the manager as just exuberant and passionate about his produce, however i would have expected a more professional attitude better customer service.I did really get the impression on our second visit (with our Yorkshire accents) that were perceived as passing tourists on our way back from a day at the seaside and they most likely would never see us again so could be a little rude.We live in Withern the next village, and was really looking forward to having a traditional country pub on the doorstep to regularly use. However after the second experience, we wont be returning.

Our food is freshly prepared, locally sourced (where possible) and bursting with flavour. Just as it should be. The Lounge is a firm favourite with those in the know; come and relax amid smart surroundings, whilst enjoying efficient, friendly and unobtrus
Having SALON, one of the finest grower champagnes, on the wine list was impressive. Not your everyday tipple with the Haddock & Chips etc also on the menu, but for that very, very, very special event an outstanding choice. This is a smart, yet cosy, place and, at a guess, a prefect venue for a celebration small or large. The food is not quite fine dining but excellent and imaginative with good service. Putting aside the SALON at around £600 a bottle, some may still find it a tad pricey but breaking through the "pub grub" ceiling is expensive. One of only a few good places in the area particularly for that weekend break or celebration. Many thanks for the review of your recent visit to the Brackenborough Hotel. I hope you aenjoyed your fish & chips (if indeed that is what you had to eat?) and yes we do have some pricey wines, but also a range of good affordable wines.Best wishes Andrew

Called in for an impromptu lunch. I had the ham and cheese plate (ploughmanâs really) and it was awesome. Home cooked ham which was delicious, really succulent and melted in the mouth. I was greedy and had a side of chips which were home made and on the money. OH had the gourmet burger with cheese and he loved it. Canât fault the food, server couldnât do enough for us, and the price we paid was excellent value for money. We will definitely return. Thank you!Hi Cath,Thank you very much for leaving us a 5* review of your visit. Its brilliant to read that you enjoyed the high quality home cooked food in Julies conservatory. We look forward to seeing you again in the future!
