For some, a tour of the Queen Mary, docked here since its retirement in 1967, evokes waves of nostalgia for the days of the huge ocean liner with its opulent rooms, 1930s deco décor and teakwood decks. Others, particularly the younger set, are entranced by the spine-tingling haunted ship stories on the nighttime ghost tour. But for everyone, a visit to this floating hotel and museum is a must on any trip to Long Beach. At one time a less-than-appealing place to visit, Long Beach has transformed itself into an upscale tourist resort, with many waterfront attractions, including a new, state-of-the-art aquarium with a fabulous shark exhibit, two excellent art museums, charming shops, public golf courses, the annual April Grand Prix international auto race and lots of recreational activities along its eight-mile stretch of beach. Take the kids to the waterfront entertainment complex with rides and live performances or to the farming demonstrations at Rancho Los Alamitos. Feeling romantic? Cruise the canals of Naples (that's right, Naples Island in Long Beach) in a genuine Venetian gondola. One thing is for sure: tensions and stresses dissolve in this laid-back, friendly city.

We chose this for a meal on our last night in LA and so pleased that we did. Outstanding food and service and their own beers are amazing (particularly the Y Control IPA).We all ate something different and it was all amazing, atmosphere is also very good, it was clear to see that everyone in here was having a good time.Highly recommended!

They just don't make bars like this anymore. Go there and step back in time. The drinks are priced for the location, but they do have a good happy hour that goes to seven. Sadly, many chairs are ripped which shows a lack of proper upkeep. Shame on management. This time we sat at the bar and we were amazed by the poise, skill, patience, personality and talent displayed by David the bartender. He was grace under pressure. The bar is lucky to have him.Hi Bill,Thank you so much for taking your time to also give us feedback in regards to the Observation Bar. We really appreciate both of your reviews since it not only allows us to improve our own services, but to see what our visitors enjoy as well. Thank you for your time!

We met friends there and had a ball. The atmosphere lends itself to have a fun time. The happy hour pricing on drinks was exceptional. Glad we got there before 6. Our server Maggie, was an absolute delight and added to our enjoyment of the evening. My wife had the Shrimp Lime Salad and liked it a lot. I ordered the Carna Asada Burrito and was disappointed. The burrito was bland and the refried beans were gray and pretty tasteless. But with that written we will go back for another happy hour.

Yard House is an upscale-casual eatery known for great food, classic rock music and 200 tap handles of domestic, imported and craft beer. Whether youâre in the mood for a grilled burger and a pint of your favorite beer, or seared ahi and a chilled martini
Rude service, poor food, loud. We were told 25 minute wait for patio table (and patio was nowhere near full) and directed to the Harbor Bar for drinks. We ordered but were then told we could not stand at the bar or in the lobby with drinks. Empty high tops in bar were reserved for diners. Directed to the end of the bar, but a lineup of strollers blocked the stools. Bartender shrugged and told us to go to a high top in the main dining room bar. Waiter there yelled at us when we sat at the high tops the bartender pointed out,and told us we had to sit at the bar, where all stools were full. He shrugged and began to walk away. My husband asked him where we were to sit and we were told not in his section. Thankfully, our pager went off. We were met by the manager, who threatened to throw us out for causing a scene because my husband argued with the last waiter we encountered. We were looking for somewhere to go and his staff was incredibly rude. Sadly, they did seat us. We hoped food would improve the experience. It did not. My ravioli was tough, a salt bomb, and my husband's pork burger almost tasteless. The waitress did not ask if there was anything wrong with our barely touched food. Must be a regular event there! Those drinks? Now very watered down (after 20 minutes) gin and tonics that started with almost no gin. Tasted like funky water and a lime.Lousy, lousy experience. We will never go to another Yard House anywhere. Our first experience ruined an entire chain reputation.

My wife and come here often just to have some of their unbelievable Artichoke dip. It is to die for! But their other menu options are fantastic as well. Great place to just chill, watch the people on the bike path and enjoy the ocean breeze.

Located in downtown Long Beach, this casual eatery offers California-French comfort food and an urban-style "roof tap" beer garden.
I was actually on a blind date, 530 pm on a Sunday night. It was easy to find her, the place was pretty empty. But it was perfect, soaring ceiling, quiet, low lights, the perfect atmosphere to get to know someone. The date was arranged, I don't live in Long Beach, it was a great choice. The food was very good, the waitress we had was attentive, great service and let us take our time. This will definitely be a place I will consider when I go on a real date.

We stopped there twice to enjoy some drinks and food on their open patio. It's a feel good place. The servers were all delightful, with big smiles which added to the enjoyment. If you are only hungry for appetizers I highly recommend the Quesadia Barbacco. They make a good Mai Tai and Margarita too. The views towards Long Beach and the Queen Mary are excellent.

What a fun place we were here after a business event and ended up closing the place down. They had cold beer and great cocktails and the band that was playing was really good. We drank and danced til about two in the morning and the staff was great. If you are looking for a fun bar to hang at this is a great one in Long Beach.

We came to lunch time by boat. This place is worth the dining experience if you're looking for great views and the bar menu definitely had a nice selection of food and drinks! The rib eye steak was cooled to perfection. You can choose to either dine indoors or outdoors. It's a stunning building, especially the exterior, and offers a full view of the Queen Mary.

We stopped by drawn in by the enticing outdoor deck on the second floor. The place was clean and modern. Great service, but we came for the food and drinks and we were not disappointed. The duck sausage flatbread was a great starter and the salads and tri tip sandwich were very good. Not cheap, but worth experiencing.
