We had a supurb meal here on Sunday night. Very impressed with quality of food and thought it was excellent value for money. Good honest delicious food - not posh (or trying to be) just great pub grub. Happily go back and try other stuff off the large menu.

Booked Sunday lunch, the first to arrive, great looking restaurantSat immediately and ordered two course Sunday lunch, waited quite a long time for starters and when they arrived one was the wrong order, so had another wait to receive the right starters, they were good food, however the waitress was asking us questions and before we could answer she was gone! Quite amusing as she was going through the motions on autopilot.We waited 40 minutes for the main course, as we were heading to a destination it ready did eat into our time frame. The main course was amazing! Again we were asked if it was alright and again the waitress was gone without listening to the replySomewhere the food and service need to marry, at present they do not!Also the serving plates were lovely however please go and buy matching cruets, we had 2 odd cheap chip shop style ones, petty but true!The long wait between courses ruined our experience!

We ate at the Eliot Arms last week. We hadn't booked but called in on the off-chance. The restaurant was quite busy - a good sign. If you are a meat or fish fan, there are plenty of choices. Vegetarian options are there but not as many. My other half chose the Eliot Arms pie which he said was fabulous. I had the spicy vegetarian curry - not for the faint hearted! It was very good and flavoursome with lots of fresh veggies and rice. Portion sizes are extremely generous. All staff were very friendly and approachable and even though the place was full, all services were carried out in a calm manner. There is a car park across a small road. The Eliot arms is a feast for the eyes as well as a feast for your tum! Enjoy your visit.

Fantastic location and the entrance/garden is welcoming. Large car park.A bit dated inside and could probably do with a toilet refurb. But this is a nice friendly village pub, full of character. Menu not too large or fussy, simple honest food.I opted for a meal that was no longer on the menu and this was not an issue.Friendly bar staff and Finn our waiter couldnât do enough for us.Will definitely return when on business in the area again.

We came with friends for Sunday lunch and was very pleased, The food was fresh and very hot, Excellent choice of Meat and veg. The staff made us feel very welcome and were very polite and helpful.Lots of choice for deserts. Well recommended.

Certainly do not cater for business travellers Small boiling hot pokey room overlooking the main road finally got a reasonable room in a annexe across the road Dinner was a 15 quid raw cheeseburger and chips will certainly be finding a takeaway tomorrow

Had the five course taster menu on the first night as part of a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Absolutely first class - every course had a lovely twist to it, and there is obviously a commitment to using the best ingredients. Every one of us returned sparkling clean plates to the kitchen - clear demonstration that the food was enjoyed. Having seen the menu and specials board we decided to eat in the hotel again on our second night - something we ordinarily would never do in an attempt to try different places. So glad we did - again, a menu with plenty of variety from the more traditional to the more adventurous - never seen Bobotee (South African cottage pie) on a menu before - and everything stunning. The chef clearly uses the best ingredients and then caters for a wide range of tastes. One of our best meals of all time. Have to mention the really friendly staff too - they were rushed off their feet both nights (a packed restaurant and bar on a midweek - a very good sign), but always were friendly, chatty and clearly happy in their job. Stayed here for a couple of nights when looking for a base to see friends and visit Padstow. Nestled in the rolling hills it really is in a stunning and peaceful location. We ate an excellent dinner on the first night. The food there is some of the best we ate on our entire holiday! There was a lovely buzzing atmosphere too because it was the pub quiz night! Itâs obviously a very popular spot! We were really well looked after at both breakfasts too! You feel properly at home and like nothing is too much bother! We will definitely be back!So glad you enjoyed your stay with us and your food experience. It seems so different to the what shall I call them, lets be kind- the reviewers, who left the review the day after you. Its as if you came to two different venues! The one you came to is the one we are very proud of and happy to have won awards for our food! see you next time you are in Cornwall.
