This brasserie is located by one of the oldest Belgian brewery Dubuisson founded in 1769. However, you can not just walk in and visit the brewery. The official site says "...standard and complete tour every Saturday at 3 p.m. but only in French, without reservation". And that's it. This is the only option to visit the brewery, and it's a pity. However, you can always go to this restaurant and taste the beers of the brewery. And I would like to mention three of them, which are pretty unique even for Belgium with more than 1300 kinds of beer. They are called "Bush Prestige", "Bush de Nuits" and "Bush de Charmes". What makes them so unique is that instead of maturation in stainless steel tanks, for example, the "Prestige" spends 6 months in new (!, yes, new) oak barrels. Then small amount of sugar and yeast is added to the beer and it goes through the second fermentation in the bottle and reaches in alcohol volume of 13%. If you are a wine lover, you'd be impressed as it's almost a "beery champagne" we are talking about :) And it's a great beer with the caramel and orange zest flavour, not for everybody (I mean, 13% of alcohol is already a challenge for some people), to be tasted from the wine glass etc. Other two beers ("Nuits" and "Charmes") are basically the same, except that the barrels are not new, but were previously used to mature Bourgogne de Nuits-St-Georges and Meursault respectively. Again, if you like wine, these words mean something for you :) Oh, yes, and, please, use white wine glasses tasting these beers, otherwise, you'd miss all their charm. You'd ask, why am I writing about the beers in the restaurant review? The thing is, being such a unique beer and with a price tag ~15â¬/bottle, you won't find them in a supermarket. You may find them online, but why not combine two things together: go to the restaurant, taste other freshly brewed Dubuisson beers (which are great, but the way) with a simple, but nice food (Belgian specialities included) and then buy the three bottles at the lowest price possible to taste them later at home or with the friends. I am sure, they'll enjoy them too. Cheers!

We shared a dozen delicious snails as entrée followed by Carbonnade Flammande and Magret de Canard, both served with a huge pile of chips (to my mind, not an appropriate accompaniment to duck but this is the Belgian way). And the free salad bar was a bonus.Good food, good service and a very good atmosphere and they have a huge rooftop area which can be enjoyed on warm days but it is self serve from there. We will be back.
