Come and meet Josh, Tina and all of the Team at The Red Lion. Finding the balance between gastro eatery and late night bar, The Red Lion is the only place to be in Leek. From Real Ales, to a high quality, unique Wine offering and the biggest Spirit select
The menu reminded me a little bit of a café, it didn't quite seem to match the surroundings. The staff were somewhat clueless yet friendly, the food was perfectly fine; deep filled sandwich, small fish n chips and two drinks for a little over a tenner! It was served quickly, was a decent portion size and tasted of what it should have done! The chips were cooked nicely too. Hopefully the team of staff will settle in soon enough. It would be nice if there were more vegetarian choices i.e veggie breakfast. Finally, I like that its dog friendly, I don't have a dog but I love them more than people. On the whole if you want basic pub grub at reasonable prices give the Red Lion a go.

We called at the pub today having been to Wetherspoons on a previous date.We had very good service from start to finish.Although, not a drinker at the moment l could only admire the real ales on offer. We both enjoyed our meal, very well cooked, quick service and we weren't pestered by the staff during our meal if everything was ok.It was,if not l would tell them.Thankyou.I normally like a pudding, but didn't notice any on offer. We will go again. The pies look brilliant. A casual, cosy pub,old style, charming locals and no screeching kids, well not today.Cheers,Thank you for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your visit. We do desserts they are on a board in the dining room and it was our fault that you werenât told about them and apologise for that.I like the fact that you enjoy being left alone,so do we if we have a problem with anything weâll tell the staff ASAP

The Country Inn offers award winning food served in a relaxing atmosphere with Oak Beams, Open Fires and views over the Staffordshire Peak District. You can expect fresh, seasonal ingredients with modern British cuisines from their famous Signature dishes
Perhaps a little unexpectedly, we were delighted by just how good the food was on our latest visit to this pub/restaurant/spa!The bar area was pretty quiet for a Friday night which didnât fill us with confidence. However, we neednât have worried. The beef lasagne was meaty and rich in flavour with beautifully cooked chips. The pork cheek with sprouting broccoli and juniper, which I had with wilted green leaves rather than mash, was simply superb!Well done The Three Horseshoes!

Local Publc House, serving home made local food
Night time visit so we didnât have the opportunity to try the food. A good atmosphere, plenty of space and very friendly clientele. The elephant in the room is the cask beer; Sharps Doombar (awful at the best of times), Black Sheep Special and Bass were all dreadful, does anyone here know how to manage live beer?Earl Grey from now on where they know how to do it properly.

On another brief stay in Leek, we had the chance to eat here once again. Really enjoyed our first visit, so looking for a opportunity to return. It was a lot quieter on this occasion, being midweek. The staff on our visit were good, but not over friendly. Really enjoyable two courses, interesting menu, pleasant surroundings.

Family owned Country Free House combining rural charm with modern flair. In the winter our log fire helps to create a cosy home from home atmosphere and our sun trap of a beer garden is perfect for enjoying the sunshine in summer whilst dinning al fresco.
Whilst there out of five is perhaps a bit harsh, it's all to do with the service rather than the food. Starting with the food, the mains and desserts were excellent, from my steak, the pie and sea bass, all great. The cheesecake was lovely, as were the other desserts. I kept with the Abbot cam beer, as the others were too happy, not bad condition but had better. So the service. It was a busy Friday night but the mains took an age to come and it was the same on a previous visit. Far too slow in comparison to other local busy pubs. We also didn't get asked once about drinks at the table but there definitely seemed to be a lack of staff, as we had to ask for food orders to be taken. Whilst I don't mind going to the bar, it gets very congested and the whole drinks thing needs sorting out.Overall, I think its slipping on comparison to other pubs and also previous visits.

Visited with family, place was packed at 7pm on a Saturday. Even so could not fault the service or the food. Generous portions and a nice dessert selection. One of our party was vegetarian but there was ample choice for them too would definitely revisit.

Gastro to Bistro food served all week, a good selection of craft ales, cask ale and wine directly imported into the UK. Family friendly, dogs and muddy boots welcome.
How can toilets not be moving forward after a year with no action at all?Great food, great beer, great staff, unfinished but clean toilets. Please get the job completed quickly.so you donât let your staff have to defend the decision to leave the loos unfinished.I emailed the owner who was rude and simply not interested that his toilets remain unfinished after a year! It appears the owner feels that not completing a job is perfectly satisfactory and that the customers perception of his establishments is second to his profits as he has enough money to open another pub nearby before finishing this one.I was banned for daring to raise my concerns with the owner directly - wow! Good job I have a sense of humour:-)
