This restaurant inside Java Hotel had a cool, classy 'bahay-kubo' vibe. Surpisingly, it was big enough for events and receptions, and the menu offered lots of different dishes, mainly highlighting the authentic Ilocano cuisine which is a plus plus for me. At dinner, the bagbet and bagnet were exemplary, and was further amplified by charming indie musicians. However, when we had breakfast, the serving was a tad minimalistic--you know, not for the hungry Filipino kind of thing. Another thing was that although the waitresses and waiters were hospitable, we waited for 45min for our tapsilog and mango juice, only to be further disappointed that the serving was--cute. But overall, the fact that it had great food and a cozy ambiance compensates for this hopefully one-time disappointing encounter.
