We recently ate at Mustangs and Burros for the first time. The atmosphere is very inviting and the menu offerings were fantastic. The wait staff was attentive. We especially enjoyed the Octopus appetizer and Cioppino. It is a very nice place to enjoy good friends and good food.Dear penelopeonetwo, Thank you for choosing to dine with us at Mustangs & Burros. Best burger I've had in ages. I ordered the Santana Burger, so flavorful! Highly recommended! My husband ordered the coordinates burger, which is a little simpler, but totally delicious! Upgrade to the parmesan fries, you will not be disappointed. Great beer selection as well. Will return next time we are in La Jolla!

Had a really fun Friday evening at Beaumontâs. They have live music late in the evening which was lively but a little loud because the place is pretty small. We did eat dinner before the music started, it was good bar food - nothing special or memory worthy. Fun night but not because of the food.

Took our grandson here for our last night (this trip) dinner before heading back to Tucson. Thoroughly enjoyable and our server, Sophie, was courteous, helpful and pleasant. All our food was delicious and hot...the firecracker shrimp was particularly tasty.

I stopped in at Jose's for lunch after touring around La Jolla with family. I split Nachos with my dad, and others in my family got a quesadilla, fajitas, and a salad bowl. Everyone was very pleased with their meals. The portions were all huge and the nachos were very good and filling. Service was pretty standard, nothing above and beyond but that is ok. I would say that Jose's Courtroom is a good location to come to for lunch/dinner but come hungry.

Stopping by at Barbarella in September/October is a must!Barbara started her custom of âenthusiastic decoratingâ many years ago and the Shores wouldnât be the same without it even though Barbarella is now under new owners yet they are keeping up with great traditions, great food and great staff.My two favorites on the menu are the Bib and Blue salad with grilled atlantic salmon.....the salmon is done to perfection!And my other fav is the pizza max.... can be ordered any time, breakfast lunch or brunch or di ner. Thin crust, salmon, capers, and craime freche. Whatâs not to like? Delish.Parking is on the street... be patient and persistent, try side streets.Seating is available inside or outside.I have reserved the patio for breakfasts/brunches for about 25 people and Barbara used to offer a fixed menu with a sweet and a savory offering. This is a wonderful setting for a breakfast/brunch. Going early affords people easy parking. Not so easy at lunchtime.Enjoy!

We were staying just outside La Jolla, and found this by chance. It has its own micro-brewery and was relatively quite as early May.Our starter was a shared Hummus, and this is due to huge portions in the states.mains were a Cheddar burger and a Farmhouse burger. Both cooked to perfection, and generous portion of fries.#Drinks were two 9oz beers and a Mionetto Prosecco split.Total bill $60.68 plus service charge of 20%.Service was good and a good atmosphere, a good place for reasonable price eats.Graham, Thanks for making Karl Strauss apart of your road trip! Duke's was excellent. Had the Shrimp and Pasta, which was delicious and large portion. Others had a decent burger, good fish tacos, and excellent ribs. However, the Coconut Shrimp were "not very coconut-y". The service and atmosphere were also very good.

We landed with starving teens and went immediately info town looking for food. La Jolla Shores is an adorable surfing area with uber casual shops and restaurants. This was place fits right in!The casual menu is extensive so there is something for everyone. Our group ordered salad, avocado toast and burgers. Everyone was pleased. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. We will go back.

Amazing restaurant...gorgeous food, great menu. I had the Mac n cheese with the short ribs (pictured), hubby had chicken tacos, eldest had ring of fire burger and youngest had a cheeseburger...all delicious. We also had a bottle of the local Chardonnay (also yum). Location and style is informal but also pretty cool. Will probably re-visit which is uncommon for us as we like to try out different places.
