The staff t the Heron's Landing were very friendly and efficient; the venue is historical and a pretty setting on the Rock River. They have a fairly extensive menu and prices are a good value for the portions received. The food itself was good but nothing to truly rave about or to tempt me to run back soon. The atmosphere and friendly staff and patrons would encourage me to visit again and possibly in warmer weather when there is outdoor seating with beautiful views of the river, etc.Their homemade fries are very good and the Reuben sandwich was plentiful and very good --- as well as their cheeseburgers.

This is a great place for a fish fry and in Wisconsin, we take fish fry very seriously.
Most recent visit to this humble from the outside appearing restaurant was for a business Christmas Party. Of course food is at its most delicious when someone else is paying for it, but the Wayside exceeded everyone's expectations on this night! Party group included guests from ages of 12 to 70+. There was something on the menu for everyone. Drinks were consumed with enthusiasm and consensus was that they were all well made. Tried a 'Fuzzy Navel' for the first time and one was enough. Special of the night was prime rib in four sizes. Spouse and I got the "Queen" sized medium rare along with baked potato. It was served hot with carving knife. Absolutely excellent! Quantity was enough to make another meal at home later in the week. Skinny guy across table got the "King" and polished it off in one sitting (he didn't talk much, just ate). Servers were a bit overwhelmed with all the orders, some food came a bit late. We had a room to ourselves which was appreciated as the group was a bit loud and boisterous. Clientele is mostly local residents.
One of the better bar/restaurants connected with a Golf Course. They have an extensive menu with daily specials. Our 4-some of golfers have enjoyed the $2.00 Taco Tuesday special. The Barbeque Pork Sandwich is also Excellent. Good selection of Tap Beer & friendly wait staff.

Rock Bottom is located in the train depot in Downtown Jefferson. The Ruben sandwich was fantastic. I chose the onion straws over fries and homemade chips and they did not disappoint. Rock Bottom is a must visit in Jefferson. Also a great place to watch a Packer game!
