My wife and I are dinner here while staying in the area. this is definitely a locals kind of place and we enjoyed the more rustic atmosphere. The place was clean and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Chicken wings with maple hot sauce were excellent and cooked perfectly. My wife said her burger was good but dry and somewhat bland. Fries and onion rings were really good. Service was prompt and very friendly. If you are looking for a nice, causal place with good food, I would definitely recommend the snow shoe.

The Eastside Restaurant & Pub

Famous for it's hearty comfort food, the East Side offers fine dining on the shores of beautiful Lake Memphremagog. When you're traveling, nothing hits the spot better than a homemade buttermilk biscuit with chicken, gravy, real mashed potatoes and cranbe

Upon entering the restaurant, there was a really bad overall smell in the restaurant, but we got passed that and decided to give it a try because the setting is so beautiful, We ordered the chicken biscuits and gravy. They brought us glasses of water and we had to send back my wife’s glass because it still had lipstick from previous user on it .The meal took about 55 minutes to arrive from the time we ordered and not once did somebody come to see us to let us know was going on. The plates were dirty too . My glass had crust on it . Our chicken plate was cold and soggy . Overall terrible experience. All 4 of us left our chicken plates untouched for how bad it was. I never write bad reviews but I feel like I was robbed 120$ .

Beautiful place, charming in fact. The staff was great. The food was exactly as it should be, delicious. My husband loved the ribeye steak, and the sauce served with my salmon dish was the best thing I’ve tasted in a while. But then we had the dessert, a 20 out of 10 (we almost ordered a second helping!!)

The Belfry occupies an early 1900s school house originally built to educate the farm children of Montgomery Center. Over 100 years later the Belfry has given this space a second life with one of the top pub's in the Northeast Kingdom. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, you immediately get the sense everyone knows each other. The food is delicious, specializing in elevated pub fare. The blacked chicken pasta's are a go-to entree, for appetizers try the potato skins, the are brilliantly crispy. As some people have mentioned the wait can get rather long as the space is not very large, plan accordingly.

Big Jay Tavern

The Tavern is absolutely perfect! Super charming with wood and glass windows that give you stunning views of the river creek and surrounding mountains. They have a nice combination of low and tall wooden tables that makes the Tavern super cozy and you have the feeling that you are in the countryside. Not only they have a fantastic place with plenty of parking, they also have the best food and service in the area. We loved the food and absolutely all 7 plates from my group were made to perfection! I had the lobster stuffed sole and it was the best prepared sole I ever ate! My husband and my children (who are not so easy to please) were also amazed by the food and ate all of it! My friends also loved it. Even the onion rings were perfect! We normally don't eat fried foods, but this was really light, crispy and delicious! The man who received us was super pleasant (perhaps the owner), and the service was perfect! The price is amazingly cheap for what they offer! Drinks were perfectly done and they had plenty of choices for drinks. This place is a bit outside the Jay peak Resort but totally worth the 5 min drive! Amazing! And the people who said this place was not for kids? OMG, we had a baby and 2 kids and it was really the best service ever!

15 years ago my wife and I took a trip to Vermont and Canada to see the fall foliage. While driving around in Northern Vermont. We came upon a cafe at a small highway junction, and decided to have lunch. I had the special that day. Roast turkey with stuffing. I then reluctantly told my wife, that "this is the best turkey dinner I have ever eaten" but it was and still is. I have for 15 years told people about that dinner but we never really knew where we were, when I ate it. Now in October 2018 after retiring we took another leaf peeping trip to New England. While driving around Northern Vermont on local 2 lane highways and just sight seeing.I came to a junction of 2 highways and looked across the intersection and couldn'tbelieve what I was seeing. It was that cafe where I had the great turkey dinner. We went inside and told the waitress our story. Having just eaten up the road. We did have pie and coffee, which was excellent. But I had to get a turkey dinner to go, to eat later for supper, and it was every bit as good as I remembered. It was as Yogi Berra said Deja Vu all over again
