Disappointing. Instow is blessed with lots of choice and food of a high standard. This pub falls short of the mark for me - no menus and limited choice available so for an evening out this was not great for us. Dog friendly - positioned close to the beach , tucked around the corner - to the left of the Boathouse.

Walk ins for an early dinner. Nice welcome, warm restaurant on a cool night. Drinks came straightaway. Orders taken directly after, and food came promptly. Our selections were clearly fresh cooked and the stir fry veg on my Asian pork were delicious. Desserts came on a huge dessert trolley, and these too were excellent. We'd go back in an instant: if we could stand after so much good food.

Check in easy and,as always, the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room, facing the beach was very pleasant and had a balcony.Food at the hotel was excellent as were the wines.Afternoon cream teas were naughty but nice.Overall, another very pleasant stay.

Quayside Inn with bar, restaurant and 17 letting rooms. Lovely views across the Torridge estuary towards Instow, outside seating and small car park, situated in Appledore, a lovely quaint fishing village in the heart of North Devon.
We stopped at their Quay location in a first floor suite. The room was first class and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good with lots of choice each day. Most of the staff were really helpful. Compared with last year we thought the dinner menu was not quite as good with a lack of specials especially fish. Room prices have now increased but we still thought it was good value and well located in Book Festival week.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a great review Dave, I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay in one of our fantastic Quay suites. Although our menu is slightly smaller we still aim to offer food of a high standard, using quality locally sourced ingredients and suppliers. Please visit our website to view our 'winter breaks' deal available from Oct 28th-March 31st.We hope to see you again,Kind regardsChelsea

Beach-bar and restaurant, blessed with one of the best views in North Devon. Serving fresh fish, pub classics and seasonally inspired dishes prepared by our creative kitchen team.
We arrived late lunch, 2ish. But were welcomed and asked to choose a table. We picked a window seat. Our waiter was attentive and thorough our food took a little time to come but cooked fresh you would expect this. We needed to catch the ferry but fear not. Four wonderful plates of food couldnât fault it. We all wished we had time for dessert. But looking at what others were having we missed out.Hi DianeMany thanks for your great review and for taking the time to share your experience on Trip Advisor. We hope to welcome you back again soon.Yours, with best regardsBrendan

Very impressed with the friendly greeting, great atmosphere and excellent food. We all thought it was great and will certainly go back again soon. However we did have to wait a fair time for our food but it is obviously cooked fresh so is that a bad thing?

Found this place on Trip Advisor and loved it. Beautiful setting and presented to a very high standard inside and out.Staff were lovely, great choice of food, good value and well kept beers. We all enjoyed our meals though servings are big so good job we didnât go for starters, only one of us could fit in pudding and the sorbet was lovely. Will definitely be back when in the area again. And very dog friendly!

Having not been before we wanted to try their Sunday roast. We sat upstairs in the window seat on a sunny afternoon which was picture perfect. The Lamb and Vegetarian roast was superb and one of the best weâve ever eaten. The staff were helpful and efficient and we enjoyed the whole experience - highly recommended.

We go to the beaver on a regular basis as we are lucky to have a house in the village. Have not written a review for a few years now so time for an update. Itâs a great local with friendly staff with always a good atmosphere. The food has been fantastic on our last few visits and it is always consistently good. The skate wing and blackened salmon with noodles we had last night was top notch.

This beautiful family country pub set in an acre of land in the heart of North Devon countryside, offers a friendly meeting place to experience great food, fine wines, real ales and local ciders. Our two rosette kitchen wherever possible sources local pro
Booked a table here for Sunday lunch with family and our five dogs.Accessed by a narrow road but plenty of parking and road not that busy. Worth the journey.Met and shown to our table. Staff nice and friendly, place lovely and clean.Food, I ordered the pork bits in chilli and ginger as my starter. The best starter I have had in many a year. Tempura prawns was the other starter ordered and was just as good, not that either of us shared much with the others. The main meals where good too, clean plates for everyone. My wife chose the sticky toffee pudding. I was allowed a spoonful and that too was really nice.Lovely restaurant, beautiful food and with good service. Will certainly return, even if it is just for the pork bits.Thank you all.Thank you so much for your wonderful 5* review, we are so delighted you enjoyed your Sunday lunch with us. We look forward to seeing you again soon for the pork bites & perhaps your own portion of sticky toffee pudding!! Best wishes Susan
