Really nice pub. Very friendly staff and immaculate inside. Spotless. Called when they were working towards a menu change and weren't really expecting to serve food. Barman immediately said no worries he could accommodate jocking even if he had to cook it himself. Food was very prompt piping hot (one dish was still bubbling when he brought it to table). Very prompt. Felt like nothing was a problem to them. Really worth calling for good food cooked well at reasonable prices. Refreshing change paying in a pub after you have eaten rather than before you see what you have paid for. Would definitely return.

A stylish and genuine bar serving beautiful food and drink all day long.
I know this bar/ restaurant is popular in Ilkley. It was busy for a Tuesday night and we were greeted and seated by the head waitress. The menu for the evening food is not extensive and contains the usual steak, burgers, salads and pasta dishes. The people who had the pasta and salad dishes enjoyed theys more than burgers and pie. For me it's very noisy and we found it difficult to talk. There are better restaurants around to go for a meal and be able to talk!Thank you very much for leaving a review! I am sorry to hear you felt your food was not all up to standard and your feedback has been discussed with our kitchen team.As regards to the noise level, I am sorry if you felt it was too loud, we are a bar serving food rather than a restaurant and the atmosphere can be louder at busy times.I would love to see you in Banyan again soon to give us another shotAll the best,Alex LawsGeneral Manager

Went to The Dalesway last Thursday night for dinner as it is dog friendly and had good reviews. I can only imagine that it was the chefs day off because the food was terrible. We ordered steak pie and two pork stoganoff. The steak pie looked awful but my husband said it was ok. The chips were burnt, I tried one and it tasted acrid and inedible. When I asked for the chips to be replaced the waitress came back and said that the chips were made with new potatoes and that is how they come out. REALLY ? BURNT? If you can't cook chips properly with new potatoes don't serve them at all, BUY OTHER POTATOES ! ! ! !The stroganoff was pale grey and tasted like thickened water with some chicken stock cube thrown in, no sign of mustard, cream, or paprika which would have made it an attempt at stroganoff and not just slop. I took 2 mouthfuls and could not eat anymore. Between the chips and the slop I got so angry that a restaurant would serve this to their customers and not only expect them to eat it but to pay for the privilege. I returned my stroganoff and told the waitress to take it off the bill I wanted to return my mothers too but she was so embarassed she would not let me, even although she thought it was terrible and could only eat half of it.The waitress was so nice throughout all of this, she offered me a replacement meal and offered us free drinks but we were so annoyed we refused both. In the end she took my meal and our drinks off the bill. We all agreed this was the worst meal we had eaten in a restaurant.

Love this place. Staff are very friendly and service very good. The food is fresh and very tasty. Today we had the pie of the day which was chicken and chorizo with fresh green veg , chips and gravy. It was delicious. I also like that they offer a choice of small plates but today I was hungry so tucked in and cleared my plate

We went for Sunday dinner last week, when the food arrived it was cold and hard. Had clearly been reheated numerous times and you couldnât cut the potatoes or parsnips with a knife. Unfortunately we had to sent the food back, staff were not very helpful and still wanted to charge us for the meal even though we hadnât eaten it, they then offered 50% off the bill, which we declined and said we wouldnât be paying for a meal we sent back and didnât eat. Female staff member became very rude. Awful visit. Wonât be going again.Hi RobynThank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback, good and bad and thank you for your feedback.I'm disappointed that you didn't enjoy your time with us, and am concerned about the staff member involved.I would really like to talk to you to ensure it does not happen again, and to make it up to you.Our number is 01943 607214 and our email is [email protected] hope to hear from you soon.Steve

Boasting pride of place in Ilkleyâs town centre is a wonderful building dating back to 1860. A grand entrance door way leads into a traditional yet contemporary English pub, copper top tables and a roaring fire (for the colder months) create a warm welcom

Traditional pub on the edge of the moors, home cooked food and real ales. Dog, walker and family friendly. Catering for all tastes and diets including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, and a doggie menu too
After sending back the steak pie twice as my father could not cut through the crust, my motherâs mixed grill was cold, black pudding missing, no gammon served. When they complained they were told they were liars and told in no uncertain terms never to return. Absolutely appalled at the landladyâs rudeness and the chefâs treatment of my parents.I am surprised at a review from a person who was not even present at the time. The pie meal was re cooked and replaced, only to be slung on the bar by your father in such a manner as to further upset our waitress and causing her to be reduced to tears.Regarding the Black Pudding we advised at the time we had none available, the Gammon Was on the plate. We buy the grills pre packed from our butchers, and itâs lack of was not even queried until time of payment. Regarding the mixed grill being cold, only the chicken was queried. We cook our chicken from fresh it was returned to the kitchen and immediately probed to confirm its core temperature, this met health and hygiene standards and was logged upon our paperwork.Your parents said they weâre regulars, possibly last year but we think this was your first visit since the long term chef left, and from the conversations they held over heard by neighbouring diners they had no intention of paying for the food at all. ( I believe your parents knew the previous chef and his family quite well). Then to stand at the bar and argue loudly and aggressively, even though the meals had been deducted from the bill, I may have appeared rude in response but having dealt with upset staff and other unsettled diners it really was just time for your parents to leave. The chef came down to talk to your mother who was abrupt and butted in as he tried to explain the chicken was well within industry standards and recommendations even when it was returned to the kitchen, so would have been substantially hotter when first delivered to the table. Personal choice to have the Chicken hotter could mean the chicken should have been eaten first, after all the mixed grill is rather large.Regarding being asked not to come back, yes I agree after your father started swearing, we had a group of diners with young children sat directly behind him, and his tone and language was highly offensive to both myself and the other diners and not the sort of clientele that we like to welcome at The Hermit. However your father did return later that evening for his keys that had been left behind, surely if we had been so petty we would have just ignored the fact that keys had been handed into the bar? However, for a review on hear say you can be appalled, but if you wish to watch the CCTV you could also be embarrassed or ashamed at your parents behaviour.

Situated in the heart of Addingham, we are a traditional country pub, specialising in quality cask ales, wines and home-cooked food. Walkers and dogs are welcome to come and relax in front one of our four open fires. We have a family friendly room with ga
A spontaneous visit on the way home for an evening meal. A welcome pint of "Lancaster Bomber" while perusing the menu - and the extensive specials board. Chose to share a starter of calimari and garlic aoli. Brilliant - wonderful tempura coating and exquisitely tender squid. My wife then had the traditional gammon, egg and chips which she declared "excellent" while I had the home-made chicken Kiev which was first rate. The ambience is that of a homely village pub and the service is friendly and efficient. You will be impressed by the variety and imaginative choice of dishes. The food is superior to many more expensive places in Addingham and Ilkley. Strongly recommended.
