We had a group booking, with everyone arriving at different times. I'd been advised of the menu prior to arriving and we'd both decided what we wanted. Upon arriving and telling the older barman we were in the group, he pushed a limited menu towards us but neither of our choices were on it. When I told him, he reluctantly allowed us to order our 1st choices. We then ordered 1 beer and a water but when the water wasn't given to me, he picked up a half filled glass, finished filling it then went to put ice in it. I like cold water but not ice. I asked him whether it was room temperature and he rolled his eyes at me.In restaurants in Australia, water is generally served cold out of the fridge, so you generally don't need ice. The water I was given was actually a little warm so it needed ice. In regards to our meals, the faggots were tasty and hot, but my tart was only partially heated through. The waitress serving the meals was friendly but the waiter wasn't.Wouldn't go there again.

We always go here when we visit friends in Southampton. The always put on a delicious Sunday roast and have chilled live music to go along with it. They have a great range of beers too!

Son took us here today for a family meal. Went on recommendations from friends and family. Was absolutely amazing! We had the mixed grill , the curry and sides. If you like Indian cuisine this is the best Iâve ever tasted. Also such a friendly pub. Staff very helpful and made us feel so welcomed. Definitely be going back!

⦠tasty, fresh food, delicious cocktails, fine wines, premium beers and a great atmosphere is what you'll find at Pitcher & Piano Southampton. Starting the day with one of our breakfast dishes is the best way to do it; a light snack or a big breakfast, we
Been in here before and I found it a bit scruffy for my liking. Tonight tho was a bit different. Gone were the battered and old menus to be replaced by new ones. The place was clean and tidy, but this is on a wet October Wednesday. For my meal I had sausage and mash with garlic bread. What a delight it was, the bash was fluffy and tasted good, this was accompanied by 3 lovely snorkers and delightful bacon. The meal was hot which was needed and the taste was very good. Another plus for me was the staff. The two front of house Kate and Aiden worked tirelessly for the hour I was in there. Kate served me with a genuine smile and warmth ... so refreshing to see. The chefs were Marta and Dan, they did a splendid job ... well done all 4 of you. There are no minus bits to my review, but this is part of a chain of Marstons pubs, I don't particularly like big market holders, I like the independents. If the manager or area manager reads this then with the 4 you had working for you tonight, they are diamonds, give them a pat on the back. Hi duncan, Thanks so much for your kind words, we really have made significant improvements lately and are eraping the rewards. Can i ask how we could make improvements to get a 4 of 5 star rating? Kind regards and hopefully see you soonSam Mulhall GM
