The restaurant area away from the bar makes the experience more enjoyable and the food is of a good quality.

) has We stayed at the West Country inn for four nights two gifted to us by my brother and his wife and two extra that we paid for. We found it very quaint it is 400 years old and obviously you donât expect a Premier inn we liked it and Laura the owner did her very best to make your stay as good as possible she is a very hard working lady she was very accommodating and treats everyone the same. As said in another review it is a bit out in the wilds but if you have transport it is not a problem. As I am a bit disabled I did find the stairs a bit of a problem but hey ho Iâm still here I survived xx

The prices were very good the service quick and surroundings clean and quaint The lady behind the bar lovely But honestly the food was below average maybe we got unlucky with what we chose 2 for 1 sausage in Yorkshire, chicken wrap and gammon the ingredients werenât fresh and Iâd guess were sourced quite cheaply wish we had waited and ate somewhere further down the hill or perhaps ordered something different Pleased you liked the place, such a shame you didn't enjoy your lunch.

A cosy village pub in the countryside with two food options; traditional pub food served in our bars and modern British cuisine in our restaurant. All made fresh and seasonal. Local ales, cocktails and wine.
Menu at this dining room is simple and intriguingly short on detail although extremely helpful staff were only too pleased to help. Food adventurous but delicious combined very high quality products with foraged ingredients that tantalise the palate. Lâ enclume quality food at reasonable prices. We will be back!

The Old Smithy Inn is a 13th century thatched inn nestled at the top of the valley in Welcombe, set in stunning unspoilt countryside a mile from the sea on the north Devon Cornwall border.
Having visited this pub before we were not disappointed with the outstanding food and friendly and welcoming staff. The Sunday lunch is as good as any Sunday Roast I have ever eaten. Amazing assortment of vegetables cooked to perfection, meat that melts in your mouth and Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes to die for !!!! All topped off with a VERY scummy pudding selection that are ALL mouth watering. I highly recommend it. We also have 4 dogs who were also made to feel welcome.Cannot wait to revisit on our next trip to Cornwall. Thank you guy's.

Pub was a little down at heel. Friendly locals and helpful host. Had booked a two course carvery. But on arrival was told they didn't do carvery any more. We paid the same price as the two course carvery. But had to pay for dessert. The meal was hot, fresh vegetables and tender meat. But felt cheated by web site and phone conversation when booking. Staff did offer us two free puddings, but we declined. Web site needs to changed. Wouldn't visit again.

I am hoping that they will learn from what I experienced but I will never find out as I will never visit again. As a vegetarian eating out is a limited experience although places are trying. After this experience Iâm wondering if their vegetarian options are truly vegetarian. They had a veggie burger fries and salad on the menu which I ordered. Nearly finished and found a whitebait amongst my fries. This is a no no even if you are not a vegetarian. Spoke to waitress who said she couldnât do any more than tell the chef. Didnât care. She said chef was sorry and we didnât have to pay for my meal. Didnât care. We called to speak to manager and she was apologetic but said that she was there when my meal was cooked and if she had seen the whitebait she would have removed it as everything is cooked in the same fryer. I believe my burger was too. Not a vegetarian meal in any way. Do people not realise vegetarian does not just mean the food but how it is cooked too. I took this report off because I didnât want to be one of those people who complain as the manager did apologise and say she will learn from it but she has been open for over a year and all those unknown vegetarians or non vegetarians who are eating from the same fryer that everything is cooked in is wrong. Just glad I havenât got a fish allergy as this could have been more serious. Hi Lillypie2018,I am truly sorry for your experience at the Hart Inn. We were in the process of having a new fryer fitted. Unfortunately it had been sent off to be repaired which only left us with one. Again as you can tell by my reaction when I came to see you, I was devastated that you found whitebait amongst your fries and am glad you didn't have a severe allergy. Having said that if you did we would hope you would say. We have learnt from this experience and are upping our vegetarian options as it is becoming more apparent that people are becoming vegetarian for health reasons and lifestyle choice and we, as a team, want to cater for all needs. If there is anything I can do at all to rectify this or if you would like to discuss this further please contact The Hart on 01237 441 474 and ask for Laura.Kind regards,Laura ManagerThe Hart Inn

We are a friendly and welcoming traditional village pub where families and dogs are welcome and have a large beer garden with amazing views and a play area for the kids. Local ales, lagers, ciders and spirits available along with a selection of 30 differe
Big place, and fairly central. Carpet throughout, which is idealif your four leggers are with you. Reasonable prices, and plenty served. No fancy stuff, just friendly service, easy chli, curry, pizza etc. Ideal if staying self catering and you want hot weekday supper. Cannot fault it for sustenance, but not really an 'experience'.
