Gros Islet, on the northern tip of St. Lucia, is a blossoming destination, at once remote and exciting. The best way to explore the shoreline may be Island Riders, where riding veterans and beginners alike can trot along on horseback and chat with the locals. The Jump Up street party, perhaps the most recognized of the town's attractions, is also a must for a taste of Gros Islet's unique blend of food and music.

Itâs basically a shack with decking. But I must say the food is tasty and the beers cold . Staff friendly. Sitting there having a piton watching the sunset over the bay is lovely. Only thing I could comment on is the cushions are really uncomfortable

Food was very good, not quite excellent. Cocktails mediocre at best. View was also brilliant; archetypal caribbean. Service decent. The Bill was frankly eye watering however.

We had strip steak and garlic chicken with rosemary. Both came with salad and fries and were very good. The beers were good value in comparison to other restaurants too. Service was good. The table however, was quite dirty and we ended up with marked clothing from this. It was a metal mesh table that had sauce on it from a previous customer. Not easy to see in the evening due to the lighting but found as it was sticky!

Food good staff very efficient place full of Americsns which they let come in just wearing swimwear .when we are eating we dont want to see oversized Americans with no tops on getting drunk and loud they also allowed the drunken Americans to take glass bottles on the beach despite the presence of bezch patrols outside...a recipe for young feet standing on broken glass hence the average ratingsHello Particia,We always ask customers who come in for a drink if they are sitting in the restaurant or going to the beach. If they are going to the beach we supply plastic cups, soon transferring to cardboard by the way!!Unfortunately some of our overseas friends are loud, there isn't much we can do about that!! As for being drunk, we do reserve the right to stop serving if someone is getting that way and we also have a swim wear policy if guests are dining at lunch time, tops are essential or they will not be seated. But if they are just passing through to pick up a drink, we can't do too much about that.I am sorry if you took offense at some guests enjoying themselves a little too much at our great bar and restaurant.Kind regards.Michae;l

perfect spot at the end of the beach - if you can picture a classic caribbean beachfront restaurant then you have this place in your mind. best mango daiquiry you could ever ask for. If anything beware of the huge portions of food which was all good quality. We found it when waiting for our boat/shuttle back to the hotel and determined to go back for food which we did for a very pleasant boozy lunch. I'd recommend this place as one of your places to eat and drink in St Lucia

Wingz -N- Tingz; Friendly service, great wingz, great seafood, reasonably priced. "Come in and taste the difference"
Great local food, they offer 15 types of wing flavours, you can choose your sides some of the options are chips, green fig salad, potato salad, side salad etc. Portions are massive we took food home! Service is a bit slow but what you expect in the Caribbean, Staff are lovely I highly recommend Wingz n Tingz.

The Naked Fisherman offers relaxed dining, that you would expect of a Caribbean thatched beach grill.
If you want a great location on the beach below Cap Estates Resturant, looking out to Martinique, the bar and grill offers an obvious choice. We were offered the taster menu ($US60/person) with a dominantly seafood slant of several courses including Ceviche of Caribbean Dorado, shrimp, mussels, an optional chicken satay, and a choice between beef tenderloin or dorado (Mahi Mahi). The dining was nouvelle cuisine sizes and the waitress was able to substitute the shellfish dishes for a salad and double portions of the meat dishes rather than a range of alternatives being made available. Desert was roast bananas & marshmallow, island rum caramel. The meal was pleasant enough but the price point for this resturant is well above equivalent fare on the island. Wine and and cocktails are expensive and add to the already large bill for 4. The menu changes each night so its worth trying the experience at least once. The costs did not match food.Dear Guest Thank you for the response we appreciate your review. as the menu states it is a Taster menu and it is a 6 Course offering, so in hindsight the portions are not going to be large, that would be wasteful. The concept is to try many different options over a relaxing evening. The beverage pricing is within the regular pricing you find on the island and saying it is above the island fare is a misconception as it depends on the products that the selected restaurants buy in and where they purchase it from which contributes to the final price which many people fail to take into consideration. From reading the review it seems the staff went out of the way to make your evening enjoyable as this style was clearly not what you had imagined or expected. Many Thanks
