If looks like this restaurant has recently been refurbished as the decor was very clean and well kept and furniture was nice a new.You do have to walk through a bar to get into the restaurant and we went on a busy Friday evening with lots of load and excitable locals (which was a bit over bearing for my elderly mother). Having said that the restaurant is lovely and quiet. The waiting staff although they were very nice seemed to like to spend more of their time chatting to each other in the corner than attending the tables and we had to call them over a few times.The food was cooked well and nice and hot. The portions are large, and we heard comments from other nearby tables say the same thing. I donât think this restaurant serves many 3 course meals!Thank you for taking the time to review Branford's. I am sorry that our usually excellent service seemed to have let us down on this occasion. I'm glad that you enjoyed the food though

Carvery £8.95 for main course, good helping of several meats and a large selection of fresh and frozen vegetables. Pleasant staff, hot plates, clean, tables cleared and cleaned promptly. Staff available to carry your food or drinks to the table if you are infirm in any way or have problems. Large car park.

8went out for tea before show Britannia pier. I spent a couple of days in a motorhome in Thurne. I visited the Lion 4 times. If you like a huge choice of drinks including ales/gin this is it. It's like being at a beer festival. Helped by having lots of lively visitors off the boats and the campsites and the staff were great. I last visited about eight years ago ,,, wow how this place has changed. On the Monday night it was packed ... so they must be doing lots right. Love it.Thank you so much for your great review! Being a free house we always maintain a great selection of ales, ciders and draught beers - we are really happy that you enjoyed these.FYI - We allow motor homes to stay over night in our car park from October through to March - we recommend following us on Facebook & Instagram for regular updates of our winter events and food and drink promotions.We hope you visit us again soon.RegardsRachel & the team

We recently stayed in a local camping site and spent our final evening at the Kingfisher after looking at what was locally available. Walking in you immediately feel that local pub atmosphere, welcoming staff, the regulars who smile and greet you and even a parrot!Long story short, the food was great with a wide selection on offer and friendly staff to top it off. Thanks Kingfisher - we will definitely be back!

We held our mums 90th birthday celebration at the LA Lounge and I can't compliment Lorna, Sian and all the wonderful staff enough. We had the cold meat buffet for 66 people and it was so tasty, the children had a selection of hot dishes that all went down very well. This was followed by a selection of the deserts which were so delicious. The room was perfect and so much thought was put in to arranging the tables and decorations, nothing was too much trouble. Lorna and Sian were always on hand to help us with anything we wanted and the whole afternoon couldn't have gone any better. THANK YOU.

Three times we have called here for lunch and always there has been nowhere to sit and eat. There is a large room to the right of the pub but it always seems to have some sort of function going on and is closed off. The rest of the pub only has 3 tables which always seem to be in use. Went out with the wife on Saturday night and we fancied a meal so just rocked up here on spec and were told to wait about 15 minutes for a table, no problem, the guy returned a few minutes later and said it would be 20 minutes instead and offered a drink on the house! great service. The meal was brilliant, I had whitebait for starters which was as good as any I've had anywhere, the Hunter's chicken for mains was similarly great. Must mention the guy who served us as he was excellent and it makes such a change from the usual kids on front of house who don't have a clue. Will definitely return! £42 for 2 including drinks and starters.
