Great food, friendly service in a unique family environment. Heroes is the local focal point for great American food.
Heroes Bar & Grill is a popular dining spot located in the SoCo (âSouth of Commonwealthâ) section of downtown Fullerton. It is situated adjacent to two other businesses run by the same ownership group, Roscoeâs Famous Deli and Joeâs No Limit Bar & Grill. The food menu features an assortment of appetizers, meal-sized salads, hearty sandwiches and half-pound burgers. After 5:00 p.m. they also serve pasta, steaks, prime rib, seafood and other entrees. On their beer menu they offer 119 (!) different beers on tap. As you peruse the menu, youâll notice that everything seems a bit pricey. However, the portions are huge, so you ultimately feel like youâre receiving value. For lunch we ordered a tuna melt served on grilled parmesan bread, a mahi-mahi sandwich on squaw bread and a Cajun salmon BLT on ciabatta bread, and all were delicious. Sandwiches come with a choice of house-made chips, curly fries or steak fries; we opted for the chips and curly fries, which were both terrific. The restaurant interior has a casual, party-friendly feel, with lots of TV screens scattered throughout. Service was adequate â friendly enough, but not terribly attentive.All-in-all, we definitely enjoyed our visit to Heroes Bar & Grill and look forward to returning.

New Orleans Style Hurricane is made with Captain Morgan White Rum, Zacapa Anejo Rum, orange juice, cranberry juice, and grenadine. Impressively similar to the Pat O'Brien's Original Hurricane, it tastes like a spiked tropical fruit punch. Rating: 4.5/5Louisiana Rainstorm is made with Belvedere Vodka, coconut rum, Midori, Blue Curacao, pineapple juice, and a splash of sweet and sour. The drink has a bright green hue, almost neon like. The alcohol kicks in like a true Louisiana rainstorm and with more than one, you could experience a thunderstorm. Rating: 4.5/5Cali-Cajun Dorn Dog is a mini spicy sausage link fried in a sweet corn batter. It is a little on the bland side. Stone ground mustard helped to flavor it. A tomato-based sauce with a horseradish kick may be better. The sausage also needs a better distribution of spices as some bites were really spicy and others are not. Rating: 3.5/5Superdome Chili is made with black beans, kidney beans, ground beef, pork, bell peppers, and topped with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and diced onions. The combination of black and kidney beans provides a pleasing texture. This is a meaty chili, but could use a thicker consistency. More salt, garlic, and chili powder would help in the flavor department. Rating: 3/5Chartre Street Bruschetta Pizza is topped with Roma tomatoes, garlic, basil, and Monterey Jack, cheddar cheeses, and bleu cheeses. It needs a sauce layer of olive oil or balsamic vinegar drizzle. The bleu cheese overpowers the rest of the cheeses. Feta might be a better option or just stick with the Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese. The tomatoes are overwhelming, less would be better. Roasted garlic would be a great topping to add to boost the flavor of the bruschetta. Rating: 2/5Cajun Dog is an Andouille sausage on a roll smothered in chicken gumbo and served with dirty rice. The Andouille sausage has a good flavor but the gumbo overpowers the sausage. Instead of dirty rice, fried okra would be a better side choice with a crispy texture to contrast. Rating: 4/5Smoked Brisket is served with Bacon Potato Salad and Ginger Slaw. The beef is tender but tastes braised not smoky. The brisket needs some more salt and pepper in the rub. BBQ sauce is pretty good, not to bold and not too sweet. Ginger slaw has a good base flavor but needs a punch in flavor with vinegar, salt, or even julienne apples to refresh the palate. Bacon Potato Salad is roasted red skin potatoes, smashed and blended in a savory, spicy mix. The potatoes are chunky in a creamy base with a mustard tang. Bacon adds a smoky, salty flavor. Rating: 3.1/5Cheesy Pretzel Bites are pretzel crusted cheese curds served with spicy ranch. The bites are crispy with slight pretzel flavor. The cheese is gooey. Spicy ranch is a good dip, but they are fine on their own. Rating: 4.5/5Beignets are traditional deep-fried New Orleans-style dessert dusted with powdered sugar. The beignets are heavy and a bit chewy. The caramel sauce is creamy, almost pudding like, and added a butterscotch caramel flavor to the beignets. The raspberry sauce added a tangy flavor. The presentation is good and open for sharing. Rating 3.3/5

Cali Bandito Tacos are a deconstructed take on the California Burrito starts with handmade tortillas loaded with marinated carne asada kicked up with Gringo Bandito hot sauce folded into melted cheddar cheese, crispy French fries, and finished off with sour cream and avocado. This was a huge portion for lunch or dinner with three tacos, chips, salsa, and side of beans. The tacos were meaty but the âcaliâ addition of French fries plateaus the flavor the steak. But after adding more Gringo Bandito red sauce to the tacos, it punched up the flavor bringing the beefy flavor forward. Modern Times Beerâs Booming Rollers is a hoppy citra IPA and paired well with the tacos. Even though it was a spring ale, it had a lot of summer facets to it like citrus flavor, mellow hoppiness, and floral aroma. Rating: 4/5If you are not into meat, there is a vegetarian version made with Portobello mushrooms. I am not a vegetarian, but these tacos are GOOD! I actually liked them better than the carne asada. The mushrooms acted like sponges and absorbed the marinade better. The flavor was locked versus the carne asada where it caramelized on the outside and lost some flavor in the cooking process. Modern Times Beerâs Booming Rollers also paired well with this version. Rating: 4.8/5Nachos are a bed of white corn tortilla chips topped with your choice of chicken breast or steak, house made refried beans, red salsa, queso fresco, Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream. I have to say, the full order was HUGE! It was to share with friends while drinking or before dinner. The cheese was perfectly melty and gooey. The steak was seasoned to perfection with a meaty bite. I loved that the chips stayed crispy and stood up to all of the toppings without getting soggy. The salsa was a bit light in flavor but we punched it up with some Gringo Bandito. Rating: 4.7/5Cowboy From H*** is a half-pound burger topped with Velveeta cheddar, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, and finished with BBQ sauce, habanero aioli, and crispy onions. The guys in Pantera would say that this burger kicks a**! Your taste buds will feel like they are in a fiery, spicy mosh pit. I love spicy so this may be too hot for the novice. The burger was sloppy so get those napkins ready. The heat lingers so have a cold, tasty beverage at hand. The fries were excellent, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Rating: 4.8/5

Upbeat hangout with an eclectic menu of American bar fare and unique dishes, plus craft beer on tap & quality TV's to watch most any game.
Our family had an excellent breakfast here. Portions are plentiful and food is very well prepared. Gluten free options are available. The breakfast sausages and bacon are really delicious. The hash browns are crispy and the waffles are perfect. Prices are about what you would expect ... $9-13 for a meal.

I have been to Hopscotch several times over the last few years. They usually have a tremendous beer selection, but the food is inconsistent. I have had some amazing dishes and at other times been astonished by how sub par some of the offerings have been.

I have visited this place several times and have always had a pleasant experience. Tonight was a different story. The service was horrible and the recommendations were worse. The waitress with the short hair hates her job and knows nothing about wine. Stay away from this place if you're looking for great service!

Located in the heart of Historic Downtown Fullerton, the Matador Cantina offers a fresh fusion of traditional and contemporary Mexican-inspired cuisine, as well as a full bar with premium tequilas and signature Margaritas. In addition to fresh house-made
Being a vegetarian I am always concerned about the choices and the quality of the choices I get. Very pleasantly surprised! They are able to make almost any dish Vegetarian. I had the Street Tacos and they were able to substitute with "Soyrizo" which was delicious! For the most part, soy substitutes are not made well. We had a large group of about 15 friends and family and we got the multiple booths in the back which was perfect for us! My wife had the Burrito bowl and kids had their choices as well. Great food, service and drinks... Additional outdoor area looked quite upbeat. Will be visiting there soon! Cheers!

We ordered a chicken sandwich, house-made potato chips, and salad, and we shared all three. The chips were a little well-done, but the salad and chicken sandwich were spot on. The beer list is impressive, although we didn't have one. Service was great too. Parking is challenging because this is a popular spot. Be patient, and grab street parking if you find

Roscoe's Famous Deli is a world-famous deli and restaurant that specializes in top of the line sandwiches combined with a great atmosphere, great people and great music!
This place is the real deal for delicious sandwiches that are piled high with great ingredients! They are so big that you could share them with a friend tool. Great bar as well and nice place to chill and have some food and drink. I even get take out's when I am on the run, so works then too.
