The best thing about this place was our bartender. She was very friendly. The food was just OK and took too long to arrive.

Really cute place. Sat upstairs at the "balcony table"....which was lovely until it came time for service....which was really really bad. took 15 minutes to pay the check. She did come twice during the meal to see if everything was ok and then we just never saw her again. We had to go looking for her to pay.My friends all enjoyed their meals...hamburger, turkey dinner, pizza. I made the mistake of trying to go healthy and ordered the haddock with rice and slaw. Slaw was great. Fish tasted like it had been frozen for years and tasted like no haddock I've ever had in my life. Think it was "imitation seafood". Rice must have been cooked last night and then microwaved today because it was hard and congealed. SOOO if you're going...stick to bar food and eat downstairs and you'll be fine...cuz it is a really cute place

While Novatos Bar and Grill is a new venture for us, the restaurant business certainly isn't. My wife and I have both been working in the food service industry since we were children, and we have brought our experience and expertise to bear on every facet
Service here was great. The Portuguese clams were great as well as the Greek Salad. The salmon was great. The Portuguese Stew was good, but lacked seasoning and the mussels were not the freshest. The kids liked the pizza and pasta. Would go back.

The inside is tired, overly crowded at times, and very loud. If your a regular you absolutely get preferred treatment. We sat, received menus and placed a drink order, then the table across was sat, clearly regulars as they were catching up with the server, they received menus, placed a drink order, received their drinks and their order was taken for dinner, and there was a lot of chatting. I am all for "being a regular" and getting maybe a little extra, but anywhere we have been when that is the case, who ever is waiting on us, honestly treats everyone the same. Too bad the food was good, we would sit at the bar, maybe, or get take out.

Our family came here for dinner with my sisters family and we were a large group and they were able to handle us very well.I had the mixed grill of lamb beef and chicken and it was wonderful. The lamb especially was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. The steak tips were excellent and the chicken was OK.

Friendly young bartender who poured a nice cold bar. Started with blue ball appetizer. Exactly as advertised...tried a teddy's burger rare" was served meduium well which dried it out and it wasnt topped with the gravy as described so it was dry....good homemade chips, good waffle fries. Other sandwich as steak and cheese. Okay.. mediocre bar food. Now, 2 hours later. I'm running to restroom with the runs. No need to return.

Lets put it this way, this place is not known for their food, matter of fact they probably aren't known for their drinks either. This place sits off a side street in desolate Franklin on the other side of 495 in what appears to be an old house turned into a bar. I only visited here because of an event held down in the basement, otherwise I would have never come into this place. Looks like an old biker bar which tries to come off like a restaurant and shouldn't. The inside is dark and smells musty and is nasty. The basement looks like an old frat house with cement floors and a bar against the wall. The highlight of the place is the patio which is sand and is huge with an outdoor bar which looks cool. The most negative and actually total turn off to this place is the food which was actually inedible and downright disgusting bar food consisting of pizza rolls, overcooked buffalo patties? and nasty stuffed mushrooms. Not sure even why a dingy bar is serving food but this place does and it is not worth it. I would not even step into this place to drink at the bar it is so nasty. Skip this place even if you have a Groupon, which is how they are attracting customers I guess.

We've eaten here several times. Consistency is welcome, mostly, with average to good menu items but rather lengthy waits. Busy with seniors, children and in betweeners the menu is large. Stick to the appetizers and sandwiches; the other items run more to average quality.Service is competent, a bit slow but helpful. Good beer choices and reasonable pricing. Quirky, with a balloon 'artist' making table stops where kids are eating (many tables) that gets annoying as they pop and add to what becomes a noisy background.

Visited Union Street Grill late Sunday evening. The restaurant was fairly quiet and I grabbed a seat at the bar.Draft selection was generic and limited. Food menu was quite extensive. I ordered the Reuben with a side of onion rings. The Reuben was decent, with tender beef. The onion rings were outstanding - perhaps the best I have had. Lightly battered and fried perfectly.Service late at night was a little slow, but understood as they were getting things restocked to close.Would visit again.

Sadly this restaurant has declined significantly. I get the sense that itâs going out of business like the other ones. It used to be a great place, but has declined significantly. Just left and the place is half full on a Saturday night. Even then, they donât have enough people to keep the place running. Manager took ten minutes to come out because she had to do dishes. What happened? Food was terrible.
