Visited this quaint pub yesterday, the dining room is like stepping into your grannies living room, however this adds to the ambience! Food superb both my wife and I chose the chicken curry with half chips & half rice which was really tasty! Kids both demolished theirs to be treated with an ice cream cone with sprinkles which had them grinning ear to ear. Will visit again... Definitely.

Home-cooked meals in a family-run restaurant, children welcome.
Popped in for a quick bite to eat before the Ghost walk in Coldingham last night. Opted for the bucket of fish and was not disappointed. It was both delicious and beautifully presented. My hubby went for a burger which was so large he struggled to finish it though he did manage because he said it tasted so good. The kids went a bit off menu but the staff were happy to accommodate. All in all a delicious meal and we will definitely be back.

We checked the website and Facebook page for this place, opening time 3pm they both said. We arrived about 4pm to a handwritten note on the window......closed 15 & 16th Feb. We had driven a fair distance to get there so, we were not happy to find it closed. This is the second time we've tried to visit & both times it's been closed. Surely not a good way to run a business. We will definitely think twice before trying this place. Not happy

We had booked a couple of rooms at The Ship`s Quarters, which are surprisingly ABOVE The Ship restaurant. They share the same commonality in that they are BOTH meticulously clean, with decor that is SO in keeping with the quayside location. It/they have every mod con but with a cosy welcoming feel about them. Initially there was no room for us, a family of Mum, Dad, daughter and two Granddaughters , to eat. We thought we would have a drink at the bar and then make our way elsewhere, however, in the meantime, the lady who we had spoken to in the dining room, made the effort to find us, and let us know that if we wanted to wait where we were for fifteen minutes, they could arrange to seat us for dinner. We did and the whole experience was absolutely lovely, Dad being the lucky one, and grabbing (age before beauty) the last fresh scampi that Andrea had peeled that very afternoon. The rest of us had fish n chips, (little one Mac n Cheese) ALL prepared and served so beautifully in an atmosphere that is was a pleasure to dine in. It was a stop over to save the children a long drive from Notts to St Andrews and one of the best chance finds that we could have got.

Having seen the good reviews on trip advisor, we stopped off tonight for dinner. Great menu choices, reasonable prices and great bar prices. Our choices were Homemade Lasagne and Seafood Platter. 10/10 for both meals. Great portions, very fresh and tasty and very good service. The toilets were exceptionally clean. We hope to visit again.
