Went in excited to try this place on a Saturday eve , sat at bar for quite sometime before being acknowledged. Bartender was as minimal a conversationalist as is possible, even with my sincere enthusiasm.Wish I would've tried a burger, but I had the Irish nachos. They were alright, was hoping for more in a Guinness cheese (I think it was nacho cheese sauce with some Guinness mixed in, as I saw the cook come get a draw of draft Guinness. )Chili tasted dark, over simmered... Maybe it had Guinness in it, it was nearly black. ) it was served over potato chips, though the menu said 'potatoes'. Beer was $5-6 a pint. The prices were decent. Atmosphere was pub-ish, indeed, pretty nice. I was hoping this would be my temporary water hole, but I found the bartender's 'tolerance' of the customer's requests to be a turnoff. Fantastic history to this place...see the website!

Today was my first time going to City Tavern but I can assure you it will not be my last! Upon entering this quaint, cozy, friendly establishment I was greeted by a young gentlemen with a big smile and a very sincere "Welcome to City Tavern", who asked if I wanted to sit at the bar or a table, I chose a table. Within a minute my server greeted me and asked me for a beverage order which I got a diet Coke (it is a work day for me) and handed me the menu. She returned quickly with my soda and asked if I had any questions and I did. She graciously made some suggestions on the entrees offered and went over the daily specials. I decide on "Chicken Sunrise" . This entree consists of a perfectly pan seared chicken breast topped with mushrooms and artichoked hearts in a sweet roasted pepper sauce. (TO DIE FOR!!!) it also had rice, potato, carrots and broccoli. All this for an amazing $ 9.00! I would put this restaurant up against anyone for quality, service, quantity, atmosphere and value. I highly recommend City Tavern. You would be foolish and not disappointed not to try it. I cant wait to return.

Needed a place to eat with 2 small children before we left the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Children's choices were A+ according to the kids, and healthy. Our meals were yummy. They were gluten free friendly. We were able to have a drink, and the shuttle took us back to the train. It made a great stop. Thank you!

I hold Ruby Tuesdayâs at the same level as Applebeeâs. That would be a stretch for this location however. The salad bar however was excellent and dutifully watched over by a dedicated lady. Impressive! The burger was okay, fries boring, banging shrimp didnât bang. The bartender was on point serving at a crazy fast pace though!

We weren't expecting gourmet food and drink but the food here was really average to below average. It didn't taste bad, just meh.. you know - like Friendlys ,,, not as good as even Applebees. The cocktails were very low quality. So when the bill came for over $100 (!!) for dinner for 2 and a couple of cocktails we were left feeling disappointed. We are so sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your dining experience. Our culinary team strives to provide a wonderful experience every time and I am very disappointed to hear we fell short of your expectations. We would love to hear more about this particular dining experience - if you are willing to provide some additional insight, please feel free to reach out to me via email at [email protected].

When you show up unannounced with a group of eight, you just never know if you'll get a table. But, these folks cobbled together a couple of tables, allowed us to take over a corner of the restaurant, and made us feel welcome. The service was very fast, and the food and drinks arrived quickly with the standards you'd expect from pretty much any Applebee's. We had a great time!
