Reviews on Bar food in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. Edinburgh’s neighborhoods developed as the city did. Originally its heart lay in the alleys and cobbled streets of the Old Town, below the castle. Then, in the late-18th century, the residential focus shifted north to a huge planned Georgian New Town. That’s now become the city’s business center, while visitor attractions and nightlife have become fairly evenly shared between these two central districts. Around them, a ring of residential districts now house most of those living in central Edinburgh. Though less good for sightseeing, these neighborhoods are just as busy and typified by thriving restaurant scenes and large parks.

A homely wee neighbourhood bar/restaurant serving up food from 10 till 10 and drinks till 1am:) Culinary hugging people since July 2007
As previously the food was outstanding but if our waitress had ever been trained she has forgotten more than she ever remembered! We arrived to allocated table, with menus, we selected our wine and our food....the waitress remembers that at 4pm there is a change of menu and they have not been changed. We ask for a jug of water and it does not arrive, we ask for three macaroni, two with bacon as a side....we get one....we ask for two cappucinos and get one ....we ask for the bill three times and have to go chasing it......how sad that a brilliant eating place allows this non service experience to be its more memorable feature. Let's get the act togetherHi there and thanks for the review. Long story short, we have been on the search for a new floor staff member and you were served by the one we we trialling. She never cut the mustard and never got the job and apologies you had the very small window to experience this. Hope you'll be back for a much more of the same when the act is most definitely back together!

Had full Scottish, which was tasty. Portions were large. My partner had avocado toast which was also good. Service was slow even though the restaurant was quiet. Nice ambience and decor, a good place for a relaxing brunch.

This place was highly recommended to visit for me and my partner. We eagerly booked our time slot and the website said it was fully booked throughout the day and seemed to be filling up fast so we were looking forward to a good atmosphere. We arrive and no one seems to welcome or greet us, itâs very quiet also.. despite the âfull bookingsâ. We finally find someone and say we have a booking and the waitress seems uninterested and even sat down when taking our order?? We expected much more, the place looked amazing but the service wasnât. I donât usually complain or leave bad reviews but I feel this experience could have been a lot better ...as I do work in hospitality myself Hi Rebeccaemma00, thank you for your review. It's disappointing to hear you received poor service on your visit to us and that your visit didn't match our usual high level of service. If you would like to speak a bit more about this please don't hesitate to contact me on [email protected]
