After a nice overnight stay at the Doubletree, we decided to eat breakfast at their restaurant. Their staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere. They offered a breakfast buffet, which we decided to try. Plenty of very fresh fruits. Nice fresh bread, bagel, and pastry selection. Made to order omelettes and waffles. Great bacon and sausage. Juices and numerous other items available. Very nice breakfast and again, great staff.

Chain restaurants are usually very predictable, even boring. In an attempt to appeal to the widest audience, they usually appeal to no one in particular. Applebee's reinvents itself on a regular basis, and as a result they manage to be always attractive. The menu changes so that one never gets bored, but the really successful menu items are there for those who have their favorites.Clean, cheerful and consistently above average make Applebee's a standout in the chain restaurant field.

This is a bar/restaurant adjoining the Sleep Inn. The bar seems more popular. We have eaten here on our two stays there and found it a fine place for moderate Italian food. We ate outside this time next to a pleasant fire pit. Our initial impulse both times was to walk out because of the noisy bar scene but are happy we stayed because we did have good, modest meals.
very local atmosphere with a large golfing crowd.nice prices on drinks, good crowd great place to hang and either meet old friends after the links or meet new friends

"The Irish Pub You've Been Training For"... Where the Craic of Ireland meets the heart of Downtown Syracuse.
I had been here a couple of times before including on St Patty's Day (in the morning) so with a friend decided to drop in as many other bars were quiet in Armory Square, possibly because of the rain but then again, Syracuse nightlife and crowds are difficult to predict. The bar was filled (not packed) with a good crowd of people engaged in talk, drinking, eating and enjoying the live entertainment. My friend wanted something unusual to drink as he doesn't like beer so the bartender (Jimmy) obliged and whipped up a nice Irish Cream concoction that set the mood for my buddy to enjoy more as the night progressed. Its a nice friendly place, clean with a great assortment of Irish whiskeys and other liquors and at reasonable prices. Add in live entertainment and you have the perfect mix for a great night out.Malcolm, all of us at Kitty Hoynes thank you for your review and news of your great experience. Jimmy is great behind our bar, always happy to please and forever creating great experiences for our guests. We are glad you saw our vast Irish whiskey selection and enjoyed our live music in a friendly atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Yours Sincerely, David

The Distillery is an award winning high energy bar and restaurant that offers fantastic ambiance and hospitality for any drinking and dining occasion whether it's business, pleasure or a celebration.
Arrived without reservations for a party of 9 at 5pm on a Saturday, and managed to get a table very quickly. Our server Mike was both quick and knowledgeable. Our drinks arrived timely, the food was hot and tasty, and a really nice atmosphere. Even got a happy birthday dessert on the fly! Would recommend and definitely would return!

Despite the hype, I wasnât expecting too much. After all, this ainât Kansas City or Memphis or Austin TX. Seriously, how good can the BBQ be in Syracuse? Well, pretty darn good as it turned out. I had a sampler platter since I donât know if Iâll ever get back. I found the ribs to be the best, but would a darn happy guy if all I got was the brisket. Ribs had a nice smoky flavor and had just a light coating of sauce which I like. You can always add more sauce and youâll find a variety at your table. If you ever find yourself in CNY needing bbq, this is the place to go!

Visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel staff. Unfortunately, our food order took 45 minutes to complete. Both plates also came luke warm and were not flavorful. My wife's brisket platter did not include any barbecue sauce and was surprisingly served on a bun. Our server could only offer an "I'm sorry" and that it was busy. We weren't offered any other options to make up for the delay in getting us our food. A neighboring table of 3 were upset as well; they paid for their drinks and walked out after waiting more than 30 minutes for their food. We were on vacation and were hoping to spend a nice evening with good food and drinks. Instead, we came away with a bad taste in our mouths.

Extensive mixed drink menu! Try the spiked lemonades. The chicken tenders are amazing! The honey mustard had a nice horseradish kick. The firehouse burger was yummy. A very good place for a nice family meal.

Went on a Tuesday evening around and there was a short wait. Very small space but the wait staff turns tables fast without rushing you. Good list of local craft beers as well as some national favorites. Daily specials that looked excellent. Decided on their classic pot roast poutine and while it is not the traditional Montreal poutine (very little cheese and not sharp) it was rich and yummy. Gravy was solid and the pot roast melted in your mouth. Moved on to entrees of bbq maple pork chop for me and grilled cheese sandwich with short rib for my friend. Both were outstanding. Ton of meat in the grilled cheese that made it decadent and a perfectly cooked, tender, juicy pork chop. Sides were good but the mashed potatoes while creamy could have used some more flavor. After waiting decades to visit I will return very soon as there were many other menu items that sounded wonderful.
