A friendly local village pub that sells good beer and food, voted CAMRA Bae Ceredigion pub of the year 2019. Sunday roast served 1.00pm till 3.00pm every Sunday, 2 meats, vegetarian and vegan options as well. Dogs welcome in the bar area.
I like traditional, and pubs not giving way to modern floors etc. This had the pickled eggs on the bar, dogs, and was falling to bits around the edges. So on the face of it tick. However the dining room was soulless unless you wanted to return to a 1980âs market cafe. Cold. Little atmosphere. Plastic chairs. Botched maintenance jobs. Food was OK. Actually quite good but very basic. We were the only ones in there on a Friday night in August at 730pm. Odd. It wasnât the perfect country style pub or anything like it. Maybe it wasnât even pretending to be so apologies for me thinking it might be.Hi. Thanks for your reveiw. As you say its a traditional pub. Thats exactly what it is. We donât pretend to be anything else. As for plastic chairs though ? Not a single plastic chair in the pub. The dining room is functional and only an âoverspillâ We are not a restaurant but a friendly local pub with good food. Try Wetherspoons next time.

Small, friendly village pub (check opening days and times that food is served) with fantastic staff that made us feel very welcome. The menu was wide enough to be interesting and every single person there during our visit complimented the staff on the quality and flavour of the food: very generous portions as well. Several vegan options available, which is good to see. Decent local ales were much appreciatedFree pool table and darts board, rustic surroundings but with an art gallery for a dining room. What's not to like?Toilets were immaculate too

The Restaurant at the Royal Ship Hotel offers a great range of freshly prepared meals using local ingredients wherever possible. Our extensive menu offers something for everyone.
The location is great, nice big venue lots of choice of somewhere to sit and lots of choice on the menu, service fast and friendly. Food was fine, nothing special averagely priced and inoffensive. Not much choice in dolgellau so would go again

Family run village pub and a shop for your essentials home cooked food locally sourced with a warm welcome to all
Went here on a recommendation from the campsite owner. Glad that we followed it up on our last night of camping in the area. Food was amazing, especially the lamb shank and lamb Henry. Portion sizes for kids burgers were more than enough for an 11 & 12 year old who were more than a little bit hungry after a long walk and playing on the water in a kayak! Best garlic bread Iâve had in a long time. Deserts were delicious. Staff friendly and food came quite quickly.

The Torrent boasts its fantastic range of both local and guest ales and ciders and can be found in cam's good beer guide 2016.
Dropped in for a drink as we were waiting for the chippy to open. Passing through on a very long journey home. Cricket was on and food from the bar was fantastic. Company and friendliness of local patrons was even better. If we hadnât got 200 miles still to drive we would have stayed all evening. Will definitely be back despite the commute.

Stopped at this attractive and modern bar/restaurant by accident after taking the wrong road. Lucky for us! Both of us had skipped breakfast, so around 10:30 we thought letâs try this place. Breakfasts are served 8-11am daily and what a treat! We went for the full cooked breakfast as it had laver bread which neither of us had tried before. Toast, beans, black pudding, egg, mushrooms, tomorrow, sausage and bacon; all cooked to order and served on a hot plate. Brilliant. Possibly the best cooked breakfast I can remember eating. 10/10.

The food is excellent. We ate cod goujons with garlic dip and salad and creamy garlic mushrooms on toast for starters. Followed by slow roast stuffed belly pork on roasted vegetables and chicken with leek and cream sauce on a bed of crushed potatoes. All served with fresh vegetables. We had no room for dessert...! Excellent food, well presented and efficient friendly service. Good wine list. It was Bank Holiday and very busy I advise you book. Good value. Great after a day at the coast.
