What a wonderful restaurant with a fabulous location on the quiet harbour-side. Itâs menu contains the most amazing meat and cheese boards served with style. I can see the reason why this place is extremely busy. I had the Brittany meats selection it was delightful.

Arrived by chance at this warm welcoming restaurant on a damp chilly day at the end of October. The menu had a good selection of dishes, specialising in seafood but including meat aswell. We had Oysters with King Prawns and King Prawns in Fennel Sauce which were top quality and delicious. The service was friendly, professional and helpful. We had wine, desserts and coffee and although we were the last to leave, and some staff had already "clocked off", we were not made to feel rushed, and had a great relaxing meal. The restaurant overlooks the Port car park and the mouth of the Oust, giving lovely views from the terrace and front of restaurant seating. I expect it is very busy in the summer, but we would definitely go back.

Away from the sea front cafes and bars, this little place serves excellent tapas. The squid is the softest I eaten in ages. There is a large free car park outside.

but that does not mean it is tatty! Read the few existing reviews and will tell you about our meal on a Monday lunchtime which as many will know is a day when loads of places close and try to give you a clearer picture. You have to find it first! If you stand at the bottom of the sloping main street with your back to the sea , turn right and you are opposite the fish quay. Walk 80 yards and it is on the left. As we were eating at our hotel that night we only wanted a plat de jour. There was a sign for tapas and thought a few of those might fit the bill. These were for the evening. Anyway having just a plat was no problem and staff were very pleasant and good natured. The décor is very cheerful with vibrant colours like lime green and orange giving a Mexican tone to dressers and other accent furniture. Our food was beef stew and cod. The stew was well conceived with fresh tomatoes and red peppers and a good quantity of meat. This was served with plain rice that was nutty and a good accompaniment with a salad that was dressed with a hint of sesame oil. The cod was a sizeable chunk and so fresh, it came with pasta and the salad. Observing other folk having the three courses for round about 14 euros there were fish rillettes served in a kilner jar or a plate which had jambon cru (expensive stuff) with other bits. Of desserts I could make out a fromage frais with couli.Wine by the carafe if you wished, reasonably priced. If you are looking for a change from traditional food such as moules this is an alternative and a slightly laid-back establishment which is leaning towards café rather than restaurant and a good bar which would be worth exploring as it is a big feature. They had St. Erwan ( Breton) on pression. The loo is very presentable and contains a few surprises! Seating area outside with ashtrays. All in all we were pleased to have eaten there and will return for the full works.
