Stein´s has had it good moments with quite stereotypical but fun German food and drinks. The service even when terse and abrupt had its charming moments. This evening was a very different encounter. The unsmiling waitress asked us grumpily if we had a reservation and when told we had not, proceeded to march us to the outside area muttering, "you will have to share". When we said we preferred to sit inside she threw down the menus on one of the long empty benches and marched off. We waited patiently as waiter after waiter walked by ignoring any attempts at eye contact hoping to get a few cold drinks, while being assailed by music plainly too loud for the setting. When it become clear that we would not get any semblance of normal service we left and waited for our Uber outside. In the time we waited outside, our supposed service found the time to stand outside firing off a few texts whilst vaping and enjoying a long break from serving a practically empty restaurant. We have not had such an unwelcoming and unfriendly experience for a while.

Our exciting menu gives you the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of dishes including vibrant salads and grilled meats. Children will love spotting the cheeky monkeys and other animals adorning the walls. From your table, take in the views across the Wany
I visited the restaurant with family, 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 children. We had a very long wait for the food, approximately 50 mins. The food in there is certainly not cheap, for example beef skewer was £25.00, Sirloin steak £20.00. My steak arrived very over cooked and tough. it should have been cooked medium but was very well done, I didn't want to cause a fuss as it was a treat from my son and we had waited so long for it to arrive, so I tried to eat some but had to leave it as it gave me indigestion. No one came during the meal to see if we were happy with our food and only asked when she was finally clearing our plates. I mentioned I was very unhappy with my steak and she said she would tell the restaurant manager. She came over and was very condescending, squatting by the table and talking to me like I was a child, I'm 63!! she said as I had eaten a little they would discount my steak and took 30% off the price! Needless to say my son was furious and asked to see the Hotel manager who quite rightly took the whole price of the steak off the bill. The restaurant manageress will lose them business as her attitude was disgraceful.Dear cazza08I am sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience while dining with us in the Zafari Bar & Grill. I will make sure your comments are passed onto the relevant teams. Kind regards, Guest Experience Team

The Wheatsheaf is a smart community pub with great fresh food where eaters and drinkers alike are looked after with the same friendly and professional service. Friendly, independently-owned and individually-styled Casual enough to be comfortable, smart en
The Wheatsheaf is part of the Pearmain Group which is a collection of 8 pubs located in Surrey & South West London. All (I believe) have Gardens which is great for an Al Fresco eating experience. The Menus are all virtually identical so if you like the Wheatsheaf food the other 7 would appeal.Given parking can be challenging in Esher this has Pub has a large Car Park, although at busy times it can fill up alarmingly quickly.Itâs also Dog friendly, and as we went with friends with hounds, I can testify to a great Doggy experience!Weâre au fait with the Menu and werenât let down plus there are always Specials so ask to check this out if not volunteered when ordering. The experience was very good although as it got busier there was a distinct correlation between waiting times which towards the end was a little disappointing.Waiting forever to get the Bill is also not good. The ambience is very buzzy and itâs tastefully laid out.Pearmain Pubs deliver a consistent experience and The Wheatsheaf didnât disappoint.

A vibrant atmosphere, busy at all times, an amazing range of on tap beers and ciders (over 30) - some from their microbrewery, and delicious food at reasonable prices. The homemade burgers (with optional jalapenos) are great and their bbq marinated ribs are to die for. A must place to drink and eat

Nice Sunday roast, everything was delicious. Only thing Iâd say that disappointed us was our starters that seemed to be bought in, not made on site. Mozzarella sticks in particular seemed like something youâd get in McDonaldâs. But service was efficient, our large dog was very welcome and Sunday lunch set menu a reasonable price. Hi Nanny10418Thank you for your lovely comments. The Mozzarella sticks were brought back briefly due to customer demand but I agree with you and they are now not available or on the menu except on request by those that enjoy them.hope to see you again soon.Kind regardsNick
