The Virginian has a rustic vibe with darker colors and lots of wood. It feels almost old-timey. When I walked in for lunch, I was seated almost immediately.I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The crispy chicken was just crunchy enough that it made for a great contrast with the soft bread while still having enough chicken to be chicken. The fries, however, were the best part. They were well seasoned and the flavor just popped. Iâd recommend stopping by for lunch if youâre in the area.

Student focused, many parents there for the weekend accompanied by their children who looked as though they would rather be anywhere but where they were. Nice food, friendly service an acoustic bluegrass band, a high spirited group of students on one table. Enjoyed our time there.

We stopped in for a few drinks and grabbed some nachos as the bar menu was limited. The nachos would have been good if not for the processes liquid cheese they used. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. Drinks were good....not great. We came back later in the evening for after dinner drink. Pretty busy with 30-40 yr old men hitting on 20 something women. Comical and entertaining. Although a few of the young ladies didnât have a problem taking a free drink and then blowing off the men...LOL

Hidden gem for breakfast. Discovered several years ago when I had to have my car repaired at a nearby garage. Walked to Beer Run and ordered breakfast...it is now my favorite place to go for breakfast. Sadly, the kitchen is small and they only serve breakfast during the week. Wish I could go on weekends. Great home fries!Happy to hear you enjoy our breakfast menu! We do serve breakfast tacos on Saturday morning, and Sunday brunch. You should come out some weekend and see what those menus have to offer! :) We hope to see you soon!

4 STARSGreat service. Good atmosphere. TVs at the bar with sports (tennis, basketball, etc.). A huge alcohol menu - beer, wine, cocktails, etc. Plenty of parking right outside in the shopping center parking lot.We ordered the stuffed jalapenos for an appetizer and those were good - it was a bit different than your usual stuffed jalapenos - the restaurant took it up a notch.We ordered the filet mignon with sweet potato fries and garlic mashed potatoes. Those mashed potatoes are a great rival to Ruth Chris' garlic mashed potatoes. The sweet potato fries had a nice crispness to them and flavor. The steak was just OK - it was cooked perfectly but not as tender as we like and there was connective tissue which is a bit no no. The price was pretty spot on for the steak quality though, plus you got two sides. We ordered the wagyu burger to try as well with bacon on it, white american cheese, mayo and ketchup. This burger was awesome. We split it so we each could try it. We both would definitely order this burger again. It was cooked perfectly, great flavor, and crispy bacon. He ordered the Brussels sprouts to go with the burger and enjoyed those.We ordered the brownie for dessert and really enjoyed the brownie (gooey and warm as advertised), salted chocolate ganache, vanilla gelato, and whipped cream. We would order ALL of our food again except the steak. :) We would try different items next time too but definitely get the burger, brownie, and garlic potatoes.

Traveling thru Câville & looking for a spot for a late lunch. We are familiar with all the chains & the bigger restaurant fare that surround the area. Looked on this website & saw another poster had done the same. Arriving around 1:30, we figured it must be pretty good b/c the parking lot was packed. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak sub, & I got the grilled chicken sub. We also succumbed to the basket of fries..we finished every single one. Desserts looked delicious but we were both too full to partake. Highly recommend. You wonât be disappointed.

Stopped in while walking around the area. Service was good. Server was very knowledgeable about the beers they serve. Enjoyed the beers and had the pretzel appetizer. It was good just not enough beer cheese dip for the size of the pretzel. Stop in and have a brew.

If you love burgers and have a great appetite, Citizen Burger Bar in Charlottesville is the place to be. Their burgers are twice the size of Jack Brown's burgers, and there is no portion control with regards to fries and other items served in their menu. We had the chance to visit during lunch time before a game, and it was extremely crowded with people coming in and out. We were quickly seated in our table and had the chance to order the fried pickles and mushroom and swiss burgers with truffle fries. Both items were more than generous and quite tasty. In addition, they have a great beer selection and they have a full bar if you want cocktails. I would recommend Citizen Burger Bar before a game or event in the area anytime!

Iâm a fan of mellow mushroom so I hate to give such a low rating, but we had the worst experience at this store. It took almost 20 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge us. That should have been our first clue. We ordered a salad and pizza. The salad came about 30 minutes later. No plates, no utensils. We waited. Finally we went to track these items down ourselves. Our pizza never came. Yet those seated later than us all got their food. It was so obvious that even strangers next to us offered us a few slices of their pizza. At least one hour passed from the time we got there and got our check. 1 salad for 4 people, we left with no pizza. The food coming out looked great. If you find yourself waiting, change sections!!Iâm so sorry about your experience!! Can you please email the time and date you were there so I can address the server and these issues?
